First comment: we made our trap with hanging/dangling rubber tire flaps lol. Dead quiet, very effective. Second, that rimfire rifle is surprisingly silent. Third, your videos are so well done. Professional grade content here.

I Built a slightly larger one, but i added 1/4 in steel plate with a slight downward angle (the top of the plate is closer to the opening than the bottom of the plate.) at the back to be used under the Duct seal. The seal works great for spalling. I can shoot any one of our suppressed 22 rifles or pistols in the garage with no problems at all. Great Video

When I got my first air rifle, I made my own target would you believe if you put a whole bunch of plastic bags from the grocery store and stuff a whole bunch of them maybe 50 of them just stuffed them in there all the way to the top of the box it could be the same size as the box you got there that box would have all plastic bags inside of it stuffed real strong. The pellets would not reach the other side. I put a piece of cardboard in front of a target bag from target the store it has a bull’s-eye on it. That’s what I stuffed plastic bags into, and then put a cardboard squeezed in the front target nothing ever went through and it wasn’t even that far but yes, that is a very good contraption safe actually and made for pellets and target practice for a rifles but for some reason those plastic bags stuffed in there like thatreally tight bines the pellet for some reason great content and amazing box then I’m going to finish watching the video and probably see if you got one for sale.

You have shot those rifles or their counterparts an absolute sheeet ton. Edit: Very proficient!! Excellent idea. I'm looking 5o replace my home made pellet trap. I use it to trap semi auto .25cal 19-34grain pellets and .357 bolt 70-110 grain pellets. Great idea for something quiet!! I have a stand up attic that is OSB throughout and I just recently started using it for a range. 105 feet, it's perfect!

That could be why my lead count is high. LOL. I certainly would not use it inside for protracted shooting or even on a regular basis. For me if I do use it inside it is on rainy days but I have the garage doors open and some air movement.

Hopefully you have your notifications turned on and will get this a year later. There are coated bullets subsonic but the cores are lead. Rounds made with no lead would be too long for a standard 22 arm. So the weight makes them faster. If you want to shoot inside I would recommend the air rifles. You can get many different kinds of pellets made of substances other than lead.

Have you tried this with high velocity .22LR? Or heavier grain .22 lr bullets?
@MrDbtn
3 жыл бұрын
I have not. There is a limit to what it will stop and while it may stop a higher velocity round, I am confident it will not stop many. Multiple layers of the duct seal may work if you are looking at stopping the higher velocity rounds.

I used a .22 pellet rifle, 1100'/sec. on a similar box and it blew through it. I had probably used less duct seal on my box. For an added safety measure I set my box on the ground and piled wood behind it so that there was no chance of an over penetration going anywhere.

Technically speaking where I live airsoft is not lawful. I can throw a rock into the another area where pellets are legal. But I figured that if somebody knew I was shooting a pellet gun they would just say stop that. I would be able to explain to them how I was reasonably sure that where I shot was safe.

A level of common sense is required not only for this but using any firearm. I don’t recommend setting it up in front of family members or priced possessions. I say that jokingly.An outside. berm equipped range is not safe if you don’t keep your shots within the range and send them over the berm. Place the target in an area where a miss is safe and acceptable. It also helps if you don’t miss.
