Some of them are surprisingly clever girls (and boys).

Dinosaurs, in general, are ancient, prehistoric creatures, and are among the largest predators to have ever walked on Azeroth. While nowadays they can only be found in isolated pockets, they used to be much more numerous. Archaeological evidence from Un'goro also sugests that some of the ancestors of the modern dinosaurs were much larger creatures, some reaching about 300 feet in length.

Besides the well-known bond between trolls and raptors, the Zandalari tribe has taken to taming dinosaurs, both on their native Zandalar, and in Pandaria. Taming dinosaurs is seen as a highly prestigious task in their society, though having just a raptor or a ravasaur is respectable enough in its own right. These trolls have an organization in their empire, the Zandalari Beast Ward, dedicated to the use of beasts of war, and the unique type of magic they use is called dinomancy.

Diemetradons are a type of dinosaur which seems to preffer warmer conditions. Other than the hot springs of Un'goro, diemetradons have also been found in the Searing Gorge, and, most unusually, in Shadowmoon Valley in Outland, near the Hand of Gul'dan. Interestingly enough, archaeologists also believe that diemetradons are the ancestors of crocolisks.

While devilsaurs in Northrend are usually confined to the Sholazar Basin, one such creature, King Dred, found its way to Drak'Tharon Keep. Stories tell that the Drakkari trolls found him in a land infested with the Plague of Undeath and brought him to their lands. King Dred is, very notably, immune to the Plague, and was said to have been thriving in his previous infested habitat. The trolls brought him in the hopes of discovering an antidote to the disease, but Drak'Tharon Keep fell to the Scourge before they could do so.

Ravasaurs are a species that's closely related, yet, nonetheless, distinct from the well-known raptors. Unlike raptors, ravasaurs are not as intelligent, though they tend to be larger, and their hatchlings grow more quickly. Interestingly enough, the ravasaurs in Un'goro are more intelligent than others of their kind, even possesing a sense, or code of conduct.

The Skumblade tribe of saurok, among other strange beliefs, revere and worship Kros, the invisible devilsaur in the sky. These saurok promote the idea that their kind was not created by the Mogu, but rather that they evolved from Kros. Interestingly enough, there are provable signs of Kros's existence in-game; namely the Echo of Kros, which can be summoned, and the fact that the Skumblade Brutes can invoke and use his strength.

Another kind of dinosaur which shows signs of intelligence, perhaps even of culture, are the pterrodax. Specifically, they have the habit of incubating their eggs underneath the fossils of their ancestors, in the belief that this allows their hatchlings to absorb their ferocity and intelligence.

Compies are a kind of small, venomous dinosaurs native to Zandalar. They are considered nuisances by the trolls, as these creatures have a habit of eating their food and their wounded, poisoning their waters and hunting their children. Despite this, however, the Zandalari have been able to weaponize them. Several compies were brought to the Isle of Thunder in Pandaria, and have been trained to kill Kirin Tor and Sunreaver soldiers in their tents at night.
