Fly front with a half elasticated waistband, slant side pockets, a wide leg... That Diner pant is the pattern I've been looking for! Really excited to see this released 🤭

As someone living in an increasingly hot central Texas, I would not only endorse a light, wide or straight leg linen pant, I'd add a linen duster, jacket, or shrug with long, loose arms. If, like me, you live somewhere the sun is so strong it stings your skin through the car window (and mind, I'm African American and pretty much never burn), light linen clothes are cooler and more protective than bare skin, wick away sweat, and stylish. Making them yourself can be cheaper and more elegant, since pure linen and clean, simple designs often cost hundreds or even thousands off the rack.

I agree, I LOVE linen and would love to have more of my garments made in Linen.

Yes a shirt pattern would be great. Not too oversized so it can be worn for work

I've gotten into sewing this past year, and while I'm thoroughly enjoying it, I'm also conflicted about making anything because there's an outlet nearby where I can find nice used clothes for pennies on the dollar. Conundrum! So I'm trying to prioritize the kinds of things I should make that either are difficult to find a proper fit for my body, or unique enough that I know I can't find in a store.

Love that patterned jumpsuit you were wearing! I'm an advanced beginner sewer, but would love to try to make one next year.

Being perimenopause I look forward to the diner pants pattern! If I can get the fit right, I will need them in every colour of the rainbow. In the meantime I'll make some Lulu frocks. They'll be perfect for danish winter, worn with tights and boots and a home knit cardigan! :-)

Working with down is challenging. I do know people that have sewn with it, but it was a sleeping bag for ultra lightweight backpacking. They are very expensive to buy, cheaper to sew but very challenging.

Well, I do think a classic button down shirt is something a sewist should learn to make well.🙂 It's a wardrobe staple - everyone will need one at some point. Also the details (collar, collar stand, lapels, button band, sleeve placket, etc.) are worth mastering. There's a great book on just shirtmaking called "Shirt making" by David Page Coffin. I would love a shirt pattern from you! 😊

Yeah I personally don't think tshirts and tank tops are worth sewing. They are easy to sew, however the issue is the value of your time. They are so cheap to buy. Your labor and materials would definitely cost more than the $20-$40 tshirt.

that's a good point 👍 T-shirts are so so easy though once you know how to sew them. sometimes its difficult to find the right fit and quality, maybe I am just looking in the wrong places haha

Thank you! The jumpsuit is SOOO much work and I know people will struggle with fit because its something that fits from neckline to crotch and that varies so much with people. I don't know if I will but its not on the immediate list of patterns to release. SOrry I know people really like it!
