One update id love is Great Crusades mode with the black templars. The mode should consist of killing an X amount of enemies if a 3 part zone and raise the banners. Each difficulty raise should add more enemy varieties and bosses.

They need to have a strong focus on the longevity of SM2 before changing course and developing SM3. As a standalone SM2 has limited gameplay. not expanding that will see players move on as they will tire of the ‘rinse and repeat’. SM2 is great and deserves a heap of love from the Devs as well as the players.

most people are already tired of the rinse repeat game loop from liver service games. I know SM2 is not entirely a live service game but I am drawing a lot of similarities to Destiny; on some level that's fine but it can get old quick. I hope they take this game in the right route and don't do too much to the base game, let it be what it is.

I think people are far misreading this. I think they're saying they can actually think of making an SM3, and getting base ground ideas to work. It takes years to make games and this is the very, very beginning stages. Like writing it on a napkin stages. This is amazing. This means they can expand SM2 consistently and work on another game while adding things to SM2 to keep it fresh for years. Mods are already breathing life into it and PvP is a blast.

I wouldn't worry about that honestly, their previous game World War Z got a lot of post-launch love up to and including DLC. Considering they said they're expanding on their post-launch plans past their roadmap, we should be seeing a good amount of additional content going forward.

@@neonverseAnimation dont worry they are clearly focusing on SM2, but they still need a long term plan, they need to give tasks for the pre-production staff.. those that work in the early stages of a game (narrative director, concept artist, etc) what they could have done is maybe not talk about SM3 yet so that people with no knowledge in game dev dont lose their mind lol

They need to put way more content/bug fixes in the game than what’s currently here, and they don’t need to be focusing on a game that could only realistically be coming out around 2030- if they actually flesh out II like I’m saying.

They delayed sm2 to polish it, they will not rush sm3. There's so much talk about 3 just because they know now they'll be making one. Don't forget there's still multiple projects they're working on too.

I think they'll do what they think is best, but I also think getting a few DLCs out there would be that. They make some money on the DLC content, we get a ton of fun out of it. Everyone wins. I miss when there were companies that focused on making an enjoyable product, but didn't get greedy with it. Let's make this "throwback" a true throwback. ☺️

It's way too soon to be talking sequels. I need to see better support for the Operations mode and matchmaking. Doing the same missions over and over is getting kind of stale. It's nice they have a progression system and all, but they need a way to make the same levels feel more fresh.

I think it's fine to mention SM3 if it is just to state that it is something that will probably happen one day. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. But I obviously want to see SM2 get a lot of support before SM3 development begins.

operations need more variety in the way enemies are spawning. Too often on missions waves and bosses will show up at the same time in the operation making it feel even more repetitive. Randomization of events is key

Darktide has its modifiers to spice things up and Remnant series has campaign map mixed with different randomized set areas per run so making it feel like a rotation of experiences. SM2 Devs could maybe add 3 different intersecting paths that cross each other at several crossroad points to the end goal and block sections off to create a “unique road” for each matchmake run through that map

From a game dev stand point, especially at this level, its best to at least start with some basic prep sooner rather than later. Concept art, story boarding, general pre-production stuff. It takes a long time to make a game and if you already know you're going to make a sequel, you don't need all hands on deck maintaining and making content for a game you already made and can divert some resources to planning for the next.

Five years? That's a bit much for what this game is foundationally. There isn't enough substance for a solid year as a primary game. There's not enough substance as a periodic filler game for even a year. Seriously, there's not much variety here. What has the average modern gamer finally devolved to if they will play the same 12 missions more than a dozen times? I don't regret buying and playing it, and I'd rate it above average, but let's be realistic here.

I would like the Operations matchmaking to be a little better. Solo, I can instantly get a team or sometimes no one at all but playing with a buddy we can NEVER get a 3rd person to join

@@syko710 yes it's busted when you have a friend, what you have to do is tell your buddy to join when you are qued up for matchmaking and when one person joins annoying but that's the only way currently

If you group up with a friend, swap to campaign and back to operations. My friend and I can pretty consistently get a 3rd that way. It’s a joke that we even have to do that but that’s the best way we could find

yea, its not just assault that is facing this issue, you play assault because of the damage buff bonus' for ranged attacks for yourself and allies gaining a massive bonus for ranged combat. But those bird goat shieldies just block ALL forms of ranged. When you attempt to break their arms with the form of smiting their puny bodies they take it like your hitting them with a pillow and keep swarming you. Shields should BE ONLY FOR MAJORIS+

I know that Heavies can break their shields with the Heavy Bolter if enough shots get put into it, though that takes a decent amount of extra rounds on a single target where there are probably 4+ waiting to stab you. I think Meltas are also good at blasting through it but every other ranged weapon just gets snubbed, which is a shame.

Yea it takes 3 to 4 shots from my laser sniper rifle to break the shield on these and considering it only has 12 rounds it feels pretty stupid

I think that players would love to play as a Dreadnought. The brief moments in the campaign really showed how badass and dangerous Dreadnoughts can be. Squad of Space Marines and a Dreadnought, that will be fun. FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!

I agree, but a dreadnought should be something to work towards, maybe you'd have to get all the classes to a certain level before you'd unlock a new progression tree for the dreadnought. it'd in theory inspire a sense of "wow, this dude's seen some shit" similarly to how normal astartes see Dreads in-lore, and show that the player knows their shit

With the Goat men with both Melee Classes, Both the Warhammer as well as the Power sword/Glove you can Use charged heavy attacks and they will block it not only once but 2-3 consecutive heavy charged strikes

We can get at least 3 years out of SM2 before they even need to plan SM3. Theres missing weapons, missing armor types, so many classes to add, new maps, new enemies, and faction. Im definitely looking forward to narrative dlc. Take my money. A PvEvP arena would be epic.

I would rather they continue working on Space Marine 2. There are still bugs and some server issues, and as mentioned in this video, the Tzaangors are very annoying. The ones with shields are just plain ridiculous. So, yeah, there are some definite balance issues that need work as well. Continue to work on Space Marine 2. Make it great, balanced, and bug free. Don't look ahead at Space Marine 3 while there is enough content for SM2 for years to come.

Yeah, the Tzaangors are cannon fodder. They’re not even full daemons, so you can’t even say that they’re tougher to higher-tech weaponry like daemons are in the lore. Tzaangors are beastmen. Mutants. That’s all. They ain’t shit for nothing. They’re lower on Tzeentch’s totem pole than Blue Horrors, and those guys are basically just daemonic slaves. The Tzaangors shouldn’t be even half as tough as they are now.

If by zongors you mean the little goat head people with the shields, then yes. Their shield blocking ability is way too OP. They block multi heavy strikes and bolt rounds. That’s why I mainly run the first 3 ops and avoid ops 456

I can't say I've ever beaten a Chaos op on anything higher than average. Inferno, ballistic engine, and decapitation I play on ruthless. Chaos has no way to CC them like the tyranids do.

Two things to bring up. Weird issues with me or my buddy starting a mission and some random joining in and them defaulting as mission leader instead of the person who started the mission. And me and my same buddy had a scenario similar to the one you had mentioned in the video where a rando joined us after we started the mission when we got most of the way through it when the neurothrope mini boss appeared the little weasel grabbed the armory data and ran to the elevator. While we were fighting and dying to get the second data from the boss. We both go down and this guy is just standing there were shouting do something so we kick em. The AI sniper was johnny on the spot getting us up. We won hope they learn to be a team player

Chaos missions on high difficulty is just relentless. They feel more like an unstoppable horde than tyranids do. The tzaangors are more a threat than anything else you face and it takes so much more to kill them than a gaunt does.

It's been a while since I've fought chaos, but from what I remember the tzaangors' shields needed like 2-3 heavy attacks just to break, that doesn't even include having to kill them after because they're still full health, they just don't have shields anymore. I'd be more ok with it if they at least gave you gun strikes for breaking the shields with a heavy attack (you know, like every other minoris enemy that gets knocked down with a heavy) but they don't unless you knock them down normally which is hard because, you know, they have shields

I don't feel comfortable with talks about Space Marine 3 when it's not even been a month since 2 launched. Sequels should only start discussions when the game pipeline is slowing down or stopped, it's not a good look for longevity if you immediately start talking sequels for a game that's so very recent. The only reason I'd ever want a sequel so soon is if they saw Helldivers 2 and the freedom of selection and said "Okay yeah, *Classes were a mistake* but the engine can't support a swap to full loadout freedom so we need to make SM3 to fix that."

I have assault at level 25, the little blue devils with shields DO die to heavy attacks but the issue is that they do not die to light attacks AT ALL unless its between their attack animations. If they spawn in groups clearing them is an absolute pain because you can take a lot of damage while charging a heavy and trying to cleave attack them is bad because cleave attacks are light attacks so all you end up doing to them is slightly pushing them back.

Yeah I can see why people think this but at the same time were talking about Warhammer 40k and Space Marines, that is a huge IP and massively popular franchise where as WWZ was more of a niche zombie game in an industry that has been severely over-saturated with zombie games so in comparison given how much of a demand there is for more of SM2 and the success of the launch I would be willing to bet they'll really work hard to deliver new content ASAP, drip feeding content would be a death sentence for SM2.

@@stillcantbesilencedevennow It sold in the millions when released, same as Space Marines. Where it faltered was Saber treated it like abandon ware for the first year of it's release. It had little to no updates because they were shifting focus to their Evil Dead title. This made it lose a lot of people in the first 6 months. Then they added PVP, despite it's audience being PVE players. Only years later they tried to give it a face-lift with Aftermath, and there's still people playing it, but it was entirely mismanaged during those critical first stages after release. The point I'm making is Space Marines runs the same risk if Saber hasn't learned from that. If anything, Saber will give it support, the question is when.

Like give the bulwark class terminator armor, give them a thunder hammer storm shield and give them the ability to teleport at the cost of grenades and movement speed. Same with Heavy but give them an auto cannon. Give the assault class terminator armor with lightning claws. So many options.

I think that they should fix the connection, and loading issues. I believe that it may have something to do with the differences between crossplay in pve and pvp, and the settings may just be fighting each other resulting on a lot of people getting stuck on the loading screen.

I just wish there was a way to get rarer armory data without having to play the harder difficulty modes. If you enjoy playing harder difficulty, great. More power to you. But to limit the progression for everyone else just seems harsh for absolutely no reason. There's already a way to trade higher rarity data for lower rarity, why not the other way around? I'd gladly trade 10 green data for 1 purple data. And yes...skill issue. I know.

if it was 20 data for 1 of a higher rarity, there'd be a reason to still play lower level difficulty. I grinded my ass up to be able to play on the harder difficulties, but it wasn't harder, things just became more bullet spongey meaning you needed those relic armory upgrades to even play that difficulty. Focus on upgrading a Bolt pistol like I did, get it upgrade enough and each class can use it, then pick which class you like most. Tactical, Vanguard, Sniper, Heavy, those ones can clear the harder difficulties because of their good primaries. DO NOT use melee. Right now, it's too punishing for too little reward, use melee only for parrying or fighting when you have no other option because ran out of ammo. It's a last resort, Assault and Bulwark that focus on melee suffer for it. You'll eventually push to be able to clear Relic missions relatively easily, but not because you're better or because you overcame a skill issue, it'll be because you're using actually good weapons on a class that makes those weapons good.

@@splinky159 Why? Giving a way for players who don't have as much free time to grind having the better weapons to handle the harder difficulties somewhat better.. It's for the PVE MODE. People are endlessly playing the same missions anyways and once you get 20 armory data any more you get are entirely useless once maxed out. I'd love if I could make the useless relic data be 1 of a relic data that is still somewhat useful

Terminator classes, but slow. I am talking 5 people squads holding a fort against waves of enemies. Each player can choose between assault and normal terminator. Assault had an option of a thunder hammer and shield, or two lightning claws, or lignting claw and shield. Normal has option of first hand weapon, power sword of something, then second weapon being storm bolter, heavy flamer, assault gun, anything awesome. That would be sick to play!

Not exactly sure what they can do to stop anyone from kicking other players at the end of missions, maybe take a cue from helldivers and just have them continue on through the mission alone.

The online modes and level-based character progression system is why I'd be very concerned about a jump to SM3. It would feel like the EA game model, where your progress is wiped out annually and nothing carries over and you have to do everything all over again. Let's at least give it a while for everyone to enjoy SM2, level themselves up, see the higher levels of content, and maybe in 3 years or so start considering SM3 when the online starts to die.

Just add more perks to existing classes, maybe even alternate ults. Two ults per class you can equip one per game / per loadout. Keeps them fresh so there’s exciting things for each class new and old

The thing is,at the rate people play, personally I can't because i have the work schedule,it gets stale pretty fast,and to me aswell and I didn't even get to play the game yet as i wanted for all the hype to die down so i can truly focus on the issues of this game,and it seems like it's extremely repetitive and grindy,just like darktide,ths gameplay is there but the rest is meh,same maps,same encounters same enemies,it will eventually make people lose interest

@@sombreroalien5121I personally love the game. The campaign is shorter than some of the games released these days but similar to what halo, cod etc release. The quality is high though. It's high quality. The operations are super fun and are basically a campaign of their own that tell the story of the alternate group working with Titus to get objectives done. Then they build up their gear to take on the higher challenge variations. The higher variations have mixed up boss encounters and setups in certain areas. There's even one that feels like a raid in destiny albeit not nearly as involved or complicated. The dev could easily continue to add stuff to this game. The core experience is rock solid. Some server issues but they will be fixed.

I’ve got a level 13 assault and I do feel that it’s lacking in the may damage department for it to be a mainly focus class. I find myself having problems hitting hard enough and that’s an all threat levels.

As an Assault player at early access, I can confirm that the heavy attacks and guard breaking attacks don't really seem to do shit to the chaos legion grunt units with shields, they get pushed back *barely* but other than that they basically have impenetrable defenses unless you specifically attack them when their shield is down, or you're getting at them from behind.

Tzaangor shields are absolutely a problem. Even with my heavy pistol I can line up a headshot through the little gap in their shield but it still counts as hitting the shield even though the crosshair is directly on their nose. And yes, the shields require 2 heavy hits to break and a third to kill which is excessive and boring, not difficult.

I've used the thunder hammer charge attack and haven't broken the shield of the thousand sons goat guy. He eats it and laughs at me, then I vibe check him, but a charge attack should pink mist them every time.

I think playing as a apothecary would be easier on the gameplay side of things. Going around the battlefield and collecting Geneseeds from fallen Astartes, healing up your team. Having your team fight off the hordes while you work your way through the armor of a fallen Astartes and then collecting his Geneseed.

I play assault, it’s one of my favourite classes, I don’t have any problems dealing with chaos missions and honestly one of my favourite mission types, it adds more variety to the gameplay.

You are my go to for all the Helldivers 2 news and updates so I’m extremely excited to see that you are covering SM2! 😃 But to answer your question, I complete agree with you on them doubling down on getting more content for SM2. And I hope the team develops a longer road map before they even consider starting SM3. There’s still the idea of adding a Librarian class for example.

10:46 i will admit there are really tanky for no real reason, i play Bulwark Exclusively at the moment and even with a power sword or a powerfist or a plasma pistol. I still have to put way too much effort into taking down those shield Guys, because their guard just never breaks. It does feel like it needs to be changed, they shouldn't in my opinion be any stronger then the default small tyranids that swarm you, they should be just a little tankier by themselves because they are part of the Chaos forces, but i don't think the shield they have is Necessary or properly Balanced.

Doom 2016 Budget was around 90 million so a good guess for doom eternal would be about 120 - 150 million dollar budget which means space marine 2 budget might've been between 60 million - 62.5 million maybe even 75 million

Anyone else get this weird bug with the heavy class where you join a game and when you finally load in and go and fight enemies you cannot use your guns to shoot you have to either go and do a melee and immediately execute to get them working again.

Would love to see an emperor’s champion class, two handed sword with side arm like the plasma pistol but specialised mainly for duelling the bigger threats. Would be nice for the larger sword to cleave like the thunder hammer but that may throw off balance.

For me the big thing is; I obviously want Space Marine 2 to do as well as it possibly can, and I want the game to have a good lifespan. What I mean by this is, obviously not cutting it short and axing the game quickly to get a squeakquel out the door, but just as importantly not forcing the game to overstay its welcome, as well. It is vital, not only for the game itself but I honestly believe also both for the gaming industry as a whole and Warhammer 40,000 as a franchise, that this game ends on a positive note (as opposed to going on too long and gradually having its soul stripped away).

The idea that Saber and Focus are entertaining Space Marine 3 is actually very plausible. When discussing when DOOM Eternal started production, Hugo Martin stated it began almost immediately after the released of DOOM 2016, and it's likely that is the case for Dark Ages.

SM2 is a great game in its own right, even before taking the Warhammer aspect into account. My knowledge of Warhammer is limited, and I know people who've never even heard of Warhammer before who absolutely live the game. Additionally, even hardcore Warhammer fans I know love the game and it's attention to the little details. It's rare that a game appeals to diehards, casual, and non-fans of an IP. They've done a hell of a job

I think people need some reading comprehension about SM3. They're saying "now we can actually think about what we would do differently with SM3 or how to exapnd the gameplay and can start laying the groundwork for that eventuality and SM3 is now definitely in the realm of possibility instead of 'maybe if we get enough funding' " instead of "We're now working on SM3 and SM2 will receive less support".

SM1 pvp had a protect the dreadnought game mode. Hope we get sonething like that. A large scale invaion mode with the vehicles etc. Would be so good. Then ofc you will need a techmarine class

To fix kicking I think the solution is somewhat simple when you kick someone you should be prompted to enter a reason and you cannot leave it blank. The person receiving the kick is then given a box to reply and also either leave voluntarily or stay and be kicked in 30 seconds. During that time the kicker can read the reply and decide to abort the kick if they want. That's just for all the general bm kicking. As for the kicking before the end of the mission, Idk if they are more than halfway through the mission then you can't kick people. Cheating doesn't REALLY matter cause it's PvE and there isn't a REAL way to grief yet...if there is then last resort you can just reset the operation but that's your cost if you REALLY wanna get rid of someone at that point in the mission.

8:51, my theory is that we’ll get the Chaplain & other new classes along side the story DLC, along with some new Tyranid bioforms like Genestealers, Barbgaunt, Pyrovore or even a Deathleaper. As for the chaos side of things we’ll either get another Thousand Suns character with some new Tzeentch demons, or have the Deathgaurd pull up with some Nurgle demons trying to get their get back after Big E went full TF2 Pyro on Nurgle’s Garden in the Plague Wars

They need to do DLC such as Titus and his time in the Deathwatch. Leandro's time spent until promoted to a chaplain after turning Titus over to the Inquisition would be an interesting DLC. Necrons noticing the Mechanicus defiling one of their tomb worlds with the events of Space Marine 2 and investigating why the tomb has not woken long after The Space Marines have left. Let the Mechanicus have their weapons and their machine spells while trying to combat sentient machines that are so far advanced with their technology that the Mechanicus loses after holding the planet as long as possible and then you have introduced the next enemy. Space Marine 3 should be during the Heresy. Stop the Invasion of the Terra while protecting and defending The Imperial Palace long enough for the arrival of Sanguineous and the Emperor confronting and defeating Horus. End with the Emperor going on the throne. Showing how everyone is affected after the Emperor being shattered. I think the game would have you play as important people during the heresy like different Space Marines, a Custodes such as Valdor and others, Rogal Dorn getting to play as Primarch making military decisions that impact the defense of Terra and the Palace. Getting to go into combat with him or Vulcan would be amazing as well. This game can be a totally open world game.

I believe that SM2 should be given some more time in the limelight via DLCs and things of that nature to really get that love and longevity and to have the game really get into players hearts and minds so when SM3 does come out it allows the love of SM2 to spill into SM3 and be able to bring SM3 so much more to the developers

Assault main here. A fully charged thunder hammer smash will only break the blocks of the guys with the shields...it infuriates me that I can stun lock a carnifex mid charge with a charged heavy but a chaos grunt can shrug it off.

I would love to see a multiplayer mode that adds drivable vehicles, Mabey make it a 10+ vs 10+ mode, but we defiantly need more operations and a proper hoard mode. the exterminates mode was ok in the first game but it wasn't hoard and it was honestly way too difficult. I think we also need more chapter specific armor, the dark angels are pretty big atm for there primarch being back and there stuff could double for the black templars.

Mainly they should fix server issues and also fix performance issues (I'm currently rocking a 13900K CPU and a 4090 GPU and I'm having laggs every now and then playing in 4K, dropping crazy frames, especially from those majories seeds that gets you poisoned if you step in them for too long). Apart from that they need MORE maps, new factions to fight, you need to be able to level up waaay more and get more rewards, therefor they should also add X amount of more difficulties. In World War Z: Aftermath you could, after reaching max level for the character, do something that was called prestige. This meant resetting all your talents (As if your character was back to level 1 again with no perks what so ever) and you had to play up your levels again. The benefit of prestiging was that you got 3 new permanent perks that you got to choose from whenever you unlocked the permanent perks again (Let's say they unlock at level 10, 15 and 25. Then you wouldn't be able to use any of the new ones until you actually reached the required level to do so) - By other words, reward the players they are grinding their asses off. I really have no idea why they capped a max level at 25 with 3 skills each in every "perkline" to choose between. Another thing Space Marine could implement from WW:Z, this being in higher difficulties, is that you limit the ammo in the ammocrates. People are literally camping right next to the ammocrate and refilling whenever he or she needs to. Once again, the hardcore grinders like it when it's difficult. This also, kind of, forces you to play the character "the way it's supposed to be played" instead of going fullretard just emptying your ammo as fast as possible and then end up dodgerolling around for 10min straight with the entire map chasing them. I literally have so many ideas, and yes, they may be hard to implement but you have to start somewhere. And to be completely honest, they focused too much on the campaign and on PvP if you ask me, hence this being a PvE game mainly, which is just sad in my eyes. I also find it hard to believe that they didnt cook up a single thing before the game got released, by other words, let's say the game got released 4 weeks ago. Week 1 you can release . Week 2 you can release . Week 3 and week 4 - Doesn't really matter what it is, if it's a new level, new weapon(s) or even a new character. Keep the players having that feeling where you literally cant wait to get home from school or work to just jump on the game and start playing with your friends. Keep players wanting to skip going to the gym for a day or two cuz they are too hooked on the game. The Dev's literally have ONE task ahead of them after doing this good in sales etc. and that would be to simply KEEP THE GAME ALIVE. Don't wait until FOREVER with releasing new stuff, cuz I can assure you that you will meet the same fate as Helldivers 2 did (Ofc that's a different story since the dev's nerfed the living crap out of everything and literally took away all the fun in that game, slowly but steadily) - My point is that players will, eventually, get tired and stop playing when the same stuff repeats itself 24/7 and not getting rewarded for doing so, me being one of these guys who loves the grind but when you're not getting rewarded to do so, then what's the point? I think a lot of players can agree with this statement as well.

Honestly I fully agree with the Reddit post, trying to attack shield birds are annoying. At least when a Tyranid blocks your attack, you still at the very least feel like you're doing 'something.' I end up just shooting them down or tossing grenades if I have one cause I know that at least deals with them much faster.
