i think the big thing is just HOW POWERFUL the perk trees on Tatical, Heavy, and sniper are (and to an extent bulwark) and how many dead perks there are in Vanguard, Assault. Vanguard has to many perks that don't reward you properly for what the class is trying to do (parry) and assault needs to reward you for GOING IN. And right now, despite both classes being viable, they just don't feel like they bring that OOMF that sniper, tatical and heavy bring with their perks.

I’ve been saying, if they buff the dive kick debuff to 50% damage from all sources I think VG would be perfect. Would simultaneously buff melee and the bolt carbines in the kit. Gives an incentive to grapnel bosses too!

@@robertman369 dude you get me. Like the issue with vanguard is that he's good at doing his own things but doesn't bring what the team needs. Deleting Majoris enemies is not a niche in of itself, sniper, Tatical, and heavy can all do that on their own. They need to carve out a specific niche for Vanguard. Extra damage on enemies you grapnel, extra damage on enemies you perfect parry/dodge, ability recharge on gun strikes. That kinda thing. As it stands now, the top 3 classes (sniper, Tatical, heavy) kinda so everything on their own and kinda choke out vanguard and assault.

@@stephangg000 word dude, diet auspex scan on the very short kick cooldown would be perfect. Leans into all the CD reduction built into the class as well. Started leveling tactical after finishing vanguard and was genuinely shocked at how impactful the perks are compared to assault and vanguard.

One of the things what assault should get is getting contested health for every enemy you hit with a ground pound. It would encourage players to just slam into a horde and go wild. would also justify the longer cooldown. also a general buff to bolt pistol stagger and hipfire accuarcy, allowing them to effectively suppress ranged warriors and rubrics while closing in the gap. you know, allow to run and gun.

Assault was OKish, but now is "Viable" only because the game is dead easy. They didn't fix anything, just made it so players, that can't read or think, are able to get relic weapons. I'd rather reworked the armory data system so those casuals could get fancy toys, but kept the difficulty as is.

The perks are still bad, melee in general is still bad, the Thunder Hammer is a Squeaky Toy but they buffed the fist so people think it's the best ever. It's not. @@danightryder

Here's a suggestion for assault so it can take advantage of the 50% increased perfect dodge window perk; make the jump pack dodge the default dodge for Assault and not as something that requires an ability charge to use. Those charges are better used for ground slams and repositioning that wasting it on a dodge, even with perks, just isn't good enough of a trade.

Plasma buff made the heavy Plasma exactly what it was supposed to be, so that even non charged shots got some aoe which is usefull. Sadly, i got the feeling a lot of things are now bugged out and more unstable as before. As Tactical i suddenly cant switch weapons to the other Bolter versions anymore and its very often disconnecting in the middle (end of) an operation. Brawl arena is nice, but i would actually more prefer something for test dummys kinda thing. Bots now also finishing enemys more often and helping is really some improvement, since if you only play with 1 friend and the third is a bot you want the bot to do at least a little bit more. What i would really like to see is Horde Mode way earlier then it is planned on the Board to be available soon. New Season: Hopefully they dont just add new colors but also new Armor Pieces with it. Like if they ever get Space Wolfes its just a must have on wolf pelts and the likes as armor pieces. Fist? Yeah dont know, just got it as Master Crafted yet, one of my last melee that needs to be relic, did feel different last time i played it compared to now, improved even. Bulwark no Health on Loadout? Really would like this as a feature for bulwark since it really fits to it getting health back on it. Performence in general: Is it just me or has the loading time increased a lot on startup? And slightly longer loading times of textures if switching Classes?

Thunder hammer badly needs stagger/attack interruption. Doesn't need to stun lock, but it's like the warriors input read... the moment I go to do a running/dodge attack, they start an unblockable attack... I hit them, they ignore it, and are guaranteed to hit me after. Unavoidable damage. Forces a more passive playstyle with the thunder hammer when surrounded by majoris.

@@Kevin-zz9du the assault is insane after this update you get the 100% dmg increase & the 20% for the jump pack & personally i just went all bottom perks for the hammer to get the pommel strike in crease & u can full charge a majoris & kill him in 1 hit & if u land on multiple you land & charge the heavy & he does like a spin & you are just surrounded by executables. Also you dont have to hit them w the pommel strike directly to deal damage you can have some space between you & your target & itll connect

Honestly I really appreciate the constant message (across HD2 and SM2) to preserve specific difficulties designed for fun and those designed for a challenge. People crying the game is too easy should experience their challenge through difficulty tiers not broad stroke game mechanics which ultimately just detracts from the full player base's enjoyment. Maybe a grapple mechanic for the rubric marines. Like when you hold them you can hit them twice as fast but when they teleport you go with them. Them teleporting player into the middle of the enemy formation would be pretty funny.

performance on my low end pc went down significantly, dont know what happend but as sad and hilarious as it is(getting 1 fps lows, seeing myself ragdoll to the moon). im not able to play any chaos mission anymore, frametime, stuttering everything is all over the place.

I think the point of the post was that talents should have reasonable requirements to work or they are pointless.

Alright Clay, im pretty hardcore into horde shooters and here are the problems I found specifically on vanguard. I hope you get this out there. I want to state my perspective of the class as a baseline so you guys know where im coming from. Vanguard is The balanced option between Assault and Bulwark - one being Dodge/charge and the other Block/Parry (imo) They all can Melee uniquely well because of dash-dodge. Vanguard is Dodge/Parry sprinkled with block/charge options. Contrary to popular belief, the Primary weapons (guns) are for chaff and horde (primarily), and the light bolt pistol for dueling, Bursting (Hs multiplier after majoris kill is 50%) & chaining Majoris kills(+) kills, and sniping short to long range chaff. Especially shooting chaff. As many of us know, the perks on this class either do not work, or dont synergize with the class identity. We are about constant mobility within repeating re-engagements but unlike assault, we can stay much longer, and unlike bulwark, we can leave to deal with other more important things. Here are my thoughts. Vanguards grapple is busted, broken, and simple does NOT work. The execute ability. The one in the first row, second column, under core traits - [Zone of Impact] - Does not work. It did a bit before, but this update broke it. Also it does not activate when the kick kills the target, only on grappling a already finish-able target (bullshit). [Tactical Prowess] - the signature skill, also suffers from the same issues. [Zone of Impact] activates (when it worked) very very late after a finisher on majoris enemies. It comes a few moments after the initial psychic wave from killing majoris. slow on Minoris. Also your grappled target can get stolen from you at anytime on your way. you cant use the grapple hook to execute targets within close to medium-ish ranges ( think 5-8 meters or 1 1/2 back steps) and you need to be out of those ranges before you can fire. The kick itself does too little dmg. comparing Assaults Ability smash with Vanguards grapple kick + [Tenacity] (25% situational dmg buff) and I still cant kill Minoris on entry. Also, a 10-kill requirement on my class dmg perk with a 30s cooldown? pick one. low dmg, cool down or kill count. How am I suppose to keep track of it activating during all the chaos? Why is there no close or long range grapple execute, on the class that glorifies finishers the most. Why can I not Press F to pay respects with my grapple hook at point blank? [Collateral Damage] - the perk that dmgs enemies you pass - does not visibly work. I have never seen my enemies stagger when passing through, nor die. When hitting enemies mid attack, it behaves as normal, and is interrupted by majoris bodies or attacks (you get the grapple off and still kick, but get caught on an attacking majoris (including during parry/unblockables)) The Perk [Unmatched Zeal] - Team perk - Melee Finishers of EXTREMIS (mini boss) restore a small amount of health for any squad member. Dogwater utility perk comparatively to every other class. Not saying there are not bad ones elsewhere too. Assuming they decide to "soften" the enemies rather than buff our dmg to fix the bolter issue, i Find the melee perks on Vanguard Extremely underwhelming and uninteresting. We get a max 55% melee dmg buff (assuming we fulfill all conditions within a similar time frame, which is extremely unlikely and wouldnt last more than 3s) compared to sniper with a one button 75% dmg buff. It takes us FIVE perks to reach that number. Just ONE for sniper. I get its a play style thing. But sniper can easily get access to that 75% by landing a single headshot to regen 15% + whatever you get on kill. You can literally swing once, get a gunstrike and go back invisible, infinitely. Our defence perks are just as lame - 3s buffs? why not 5s? the other half of defensive perks feel like a cop-out. Why didnt we, the 2 armor class - the Least armored melee class, get 1 armor on gunstrikes even without killing? Why did we get [Emperor's Blessing] a Signature skill that gives us only two armor back on a fatal hit. 180s cooldown. [close combat focus] is bad. Out of all classes we want to get hit the least in a situation we will constantly be threatened to get hit and shot. We are about moving while staying as untouched as possible. I know we can trade with [Upper Hand] ( a perk that makes you uninterruptible after a parry/dodge) but its only well suited to charged attacks or gunstrikes, not full brawling like bulwark. [Melee Mastery] Is too weak for Vanguards kit (as it is) and is shared with sniper. another redundant, unspecial cop-out skill. please replace it with something we actually need. 10% dmg buff does NOT work worth a damn unless you are using 14+ dmg weapons, or abusing the charge attack past 1 second on knife and Chainsword. [Grim Determination] Only activates after you expend BOTH grapple charges. A problem. Lastly, and this is a problem on every class. Grenade deployment in 90% of situations is clumsy, awkward and frustrating. The only time ive have smooth grenade deployment is immediately after a grapple hook. My levels as of now. My Tactical/Sniper/Vanguard are lv 25 Assault 18 Bulwark 9 Heavy 3 I could have maxed them all out, but I dont like getting grindy for completionism, so ive played a lot of mission just because, on vanguard. 200hrs in game. Thanks for the writeup this was my 4th character (didn't enjoy it because I hated the grapple) so I didn't put nearly enough time into it yet. It's next on the list when I level it's boltguns after they get buffed.

Block weapons deal more damage/are faster/cleave more. Now you choose if you want more damage or more survival, but I'm always going fencing except on assault where I am dodging and using charged attack, not parrying anyway

Melee is dead. Parry spam on non block weapons is not only deals more damage, but also safer and even heals you. There is literally no point to use melee button now.

Honestly, I feel like the teleporting mechanic should only be present with a sorcerer with the teleport ability being nullified and inactive once he's dead. I'd also like to see a sorcerer present with every group of rubrics and once the sorcerer gets killed, every rubric becomes momentarily staggered. It'd really emphasize killing the sorcerer quickly and you'd get a similar backlash effect to the tyranids, but it's different because it's affecting the majoris enemies.

I agree, there's should be more identity to the stronger enemies. Specific weaknesses and strengths to influence the priority of the battlefield, like what you detail for the chaos sorc. The Carnifx was a nice touch in that vein imo.

Hey there, gonna type a mouth so I hope you don't mind my suggestions, but try the power fist talent that gives light attacks extra damage after heavies. The power fist is the only weapon in the game where the combo system can swap back and forth between all the combos without ever needing to reset its combo ( 3 lights and 1 heavy ends on the same combo between 2 heavies 1 light and 1 heavy) and it really benefits from weaving a few heavies and lights together, it's able to hit a lot of breakpoints where as spamming heavies without the light perk makes it a lot more sluggish. Also imo the perk that adds 25% to charge attacks is mandatory for it on assault because the power fist heavies count for that, and they don't need to be charged at all for it. The power fist is very different than every other weapon in how its combos work and if you sorta play around that I personally think it's better than the power sword on bulwark, thunderhammer on assault is preference tho.

I was messing with it before the patch and noticed something similar. It still hit kinda weak but it seemed like the best way to get damage out of it was throwing in light attacks. With armor being better now we're on the right track but I can't help but think most melee options should do more damage and maybe make running attacks have fewer animation frames; where's my charge phase huh?

@@u-mos8820 Yeah, that plus people keep taking balance power fist because of the emphasis to dodge instead of parry on him, but the fencing fist is just the best one. All increased stats except cleaving, but when you take the perk on the fist that increases the power wave on the heavy attacks it doesnt matter anyway.

Nice video! Imo this was a very healthy update for the game, some bugs are still present but nothing too bad. Something that i think needs a change/balance is solo play. I've basically done the whole game solo, currently 50 hours in, and i've gotta say it feels kind of unfair compared to multiplayer co-op, the bots have no targeting and no sense of objectives, and if you die you're a goner, unlike in co-op where you simply respawn

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the difficulty after the update. You're right-the game was already easy, and unfortunately, Ruthless difficulty has now become trivial with reasonably leveled characters. That said, I'd caution against making too many assumptions. I will avoid speaking for others here, just for myself - I voiced my frustrations with the patch online concerning low difficulty, but that definitely doesn’t mean I was okay with the condition pre-patch. I just feel the patch went too far one sided, causing further issues. What I mean: The nerfs to enemies and buffs to players should have been balanced or offset better, particularly in Ruthless mode, to maintain a challenge rather than leaving us waiting for a new difficulty setting to fix the issue. For example, while I like many of the gameplay changes, I think the reduction in spawn rates was overdone, at least for Ruthless. And, maybe I’m the only one, but I didn’t mind the shielded Tzaangors. They encouraged a change in strategy rather than just spamming light attacks-you could heavy hit, bash, grenade, parry or shoot over their shields. I will admit though, outside of running a high-level team in Ruthless, the game does feel better post-patch. Honestly, I would love it if future updates addressed Ruthless and cranked it up a notch again, instead of having to rely on Lethal difficulty to save the game for the more hardcore audience and bring back the challenge.

In my opinion Jump pack dash should substitute the normal dodge/dash for Assault Marines without costing any Jump pack Charges. This way some talent tree points are worth taking and get used. I love the assault class, but I rarely use the Jump pack for dodging, because it refills to slow and has too few charges to waste them on dodging and probably not getting a perfect dodge and so a refund for the charge I spent - in my opinion.

What the patch feels like, and what I hope it was, is a 'quick fix' while they work on things more deeply. Like the broken weapon talents and possibly overhauling the Assault's perks and jet pack ability. I want them to combine the jet pack dash with the regular dash, right now I feel like the Vanguard does what the Assault does, except better. The Vanguard has hyper mobility, even being able to grapnel enemies at higher elevations. I feel like assault should be the hyper mobile melee class. I want to feel like Gadriel in the cutscene where he dashes from xeno to xeno lopping off limbs.

They need to add a spear and sword combo weapon for the assault class The spear in the right hand with the R2 / fire key. It will do thrust attacks with double the range of the hammer. Charge attacks are “power” attacks have more range and damage (same lightning effect of the power sword) The sword in the left hand does side to side slash attacks with the R1 / melee attack key. Charge attacks are “power” attacks have more range and damage (same lightning effect of the power sword). The sword will do all the parries. The L2 /aim down sights key will ready the spear to throw, tap the R2/fire key to throw and hold it to charge giving it increased AOE and penetration (like the Las Fusil) When you throw the weapon you have to retrieve it, it’s put on a timer to return in 10 seconds (5 with perks) if not picked up, it has an auto (no button action) pick up The Gun Strike function- throw the spear and lunge to auto retrieve, if you perfect dodge the spear returns to give you the in Strike option No ammo - the pick up function will punish you for bad tactics and missed shots, Leaving you with just the sword to defend yourself until the timed return or perfect dodge. With it being on the assault class you can jet pack to the spear knock enemies down and retrieve as well

Changes/QoL they need to add in the game: -Medtims should fully restores your health -Contested health duration before decaying from 3 seconds to 5 seconds. -Dealing damage restore more contested health -Armor Boost reworked: fully restores your armor -If your secondary weapon has no ammo you won't perform Gun Strike -You have an option to perform gun strike on incapacitated Majoris level or higher enemy even if you didn't stagger them nor your teammates -Dodging/Parrying will cancel your attack animation. - Armor delay reset reduced from 25 seconds to 15 seconds -Melee weapons damage slightly increased. -Melee weapons animation speed slightly increased. -Vanguard ability should work on any surface(PVE). -Frag grenade damage and explosion radius increase. -Grenades explosion will trigger flammable barrel to explode. -You are now equipped of stimms and random grenades at the start of the game(Campaign & PVE). -If you have full health and armor your teammates (bot) will execute the enemies instead(If possible). -Melee attacks no longer bypasses opponents armor(PVP). -Health will regenerates faster out of combat (PVP). -AI teammates are now smarter(Campaign & PVE) -Jump pack ability in Campaign is now infinite -Camera shoulder swaps(PVE&PVP). -Your are able to select specific AI teammates for operations. -Teammates armor and contested health are now visible on their health bar -FOV slider My main controversy request: -Executing(not perfect parry nor gun strike kill) enemies should restore percentage of your health based on enemy size (just like in the first game) What about you brothers?

Awesome video as always. Sucks though i have a G9 monitor so im screwed, the ultrawide fix only works well with 21:9. Now my marine takes up 1/3 of my screen all they did was zoom the image in so my marine also doesnt have leges. Shitty thing is Saber said they wont put in a FOV slider. :(

I just wish they would remove to class limit, I don't like any other classes except the TacMarine. I've been trying to learn Vanguard, but I just ain't my style; I want to shoot shih ffs. And they should make the Bolter type weapons actually useful, they're all meh at best. Easily overshadowed by the Plasma. Zoo/Neurothropes still feel a tad too tanky imo, granted when it showed up I was using a not-leveled Plasma rifle. For some reason I had to verify the files on pc, performance was worse than pre-patch and armor customization waa completely borked

The game was definitely too easy before, it was just not that fun to spam roll around. Thank God for these changes, the game is still pretty easy, but at least it is more fun now. Excited for the next difficulty. I do think they should increase the enemy density though.

A couple of things I've noticed while fighting Chaos: 1. The marine flame orange circle attack hits you even if you manage to dodge and are slightly outside of the circle more often than not 2. Most of, if not all, the marine orange heavy melee attacks are so quick they are almost impossible to dodge in time In my opinion, even with the enemy nerfs, I still find difficulty 3 and 4 more than challenging enough at the moment, despite a lot of people saying it's too easy. It is easier, yes, especially against Chaos, but it's definitely not a cakewalk. Might be an unpopular opinion but that's my experience with it so far. It might also just be a skill issue, although I've got 160 hours in the game and finished the campaign solo on difficulty 4 before this update came out. I'm not saying they should make it easier, it's fine as it is now regarding challenge, I don't believe it's too easy. I also don't like how the game forces you to play at difficulties 3 and 4 to unlock the highest tier of weapons. You should be able to enjoy the game at whichever difficulty you prefer, and only make the hardest difficulties more rewarding by allowing people to unlock stuff more quickly

[Broken Perk] Sniper 'Tactical Ambush' (column 6, row 3) Combined with the Combat Knife 'Shadow Stab' perk (top row, 1st purple) should increase melee damage to 300+ %. Doesn't seem to do much at all tho. Thanks as always for the info and entertainment!

Potentially gamebreaking bug on assualt: when using the jump pack you will randomly die while youre in the air Reproduced on fall of atreus and vox liberatis (50/50 whether it happens) idky this is happening and its kinda annoying 😢

I’ve played half the campaign or so, the gunners before the first update were infuriating. Instantly draining your health from across the map and through walls. So glad they’re fixed. I’ve noticed on the ai teammates are sometimes a little too good at killing higher priority enemies, like a licter came out and they killed it before I even got to fight it, was kinda disappointing

Assault is insta-dieing after jumping with a certain perk. Was told it was the ascension perk. Seen about 4 identical vids of this on Reddit in less than an hour

The campaing was absolutely amazing but the operations.. just dont motivate me to play, idk the leveling, gun avaliability and usability doesn't feel right

The update made the game more fun but there is no content right now. Lethal had better massively change up the game, or they would need to push up horde mode. Once you've maxed out all classes with all the relevant weapons there is nothing to do.

Heavy plasma is still in the Garbage tier for me. It does more damage, but the ammo issues, arcing shot, slow projectile speed and slow charge up makes it mostly useless for me. So many times when I charge and shoot at something more than 10 feet away, they simply just side step the projectile three times in a row. If the plasma shot straight, like all other plasma weapons in the game, I might actually like it, but as it is now I find it just terrible

@@Avoozl I actually really like the heavy plasma, I've been using it over the melta and bolter. The projectile speed is an issue at long range but the damage and cc it has makes up for it IMHO.

With stims healing contested hp bulwark can place shield and have the whole team heal to full as long as everybody has one. Super fun utility to have for the team

That's why i love the heavy aura that makes everyone on the team revive with full health. Just one stim after rez and you're right as rain, no more mortal wound. There should be more utilities like this on other classes imo.

I must have had the "no fun" version of the game. Drop pod never healed any of my characters, melta guns never healed past my contested

drop pods healing only worked for bulwurk and heavy if they picked the perk that gives more max hp (bulwurk has this perk by default) so the drop pod would reapply the perk and magically give you back hp. It felt like a bug. The contested health thing was kinda rare but it only ever proc'd for me when you have a little contested health and burn a thicc horde. Weapon's too strong any how and doesn't need that much sauce.

I'm sorry to tell you friend but that's not a bug it's gone. The only way to refill your aux grenades is with the emperor's vengeance Perk or a small ammo box.

i almost fell asleep after the patch doing max difficulty operations its boring af , nobody died , you can just eat pizza and one hand the game by spamming counter its a bs enemy nerf fighting now on max diff feels the same as diff 2 before patch

What a stupid take. Due to armor on minoris parry, you can just spam it and be immortal. How the hell is this considered "cinematic" or "power fantasy"? It's a lobotomized fantasy. Enemies got stormtrooper level of accuracy. With all the damage changes, you have to be AFK to die. Nobody asked for THESE nurfs. Rolling was a problem due to tzaangors, not CSM. But they nerfed everything. Fall of Atreus train part is a joke now, barely any enemy. And they can't hit you if you stand still. Just let be honest with yourself. Bad players destroyed the game. There is no challenge, no risk, just rewards being handed for free.

I dunno, operations progression feels like a chore having to play specific difficulty for specific upgrades and also while having to look for them every mission is super tedious for me, same reason I dropped vermintide 2 just having to look for grims every mission ( yeah you can remember all of the spawns but still having to check them every single mission is not fun imo) I really want to like playing them because Space Marines are sick but oh well Time for me to return to the Mourningstar
