Great battle! The Skull Cannon only takes 1 wound when it misfires, like most of the other demon artillery.

holy shit. Love seeing Daemons of Chaos and other lightly played TOW armies but that was a ROUGH game for Khorne. Still a great batrep tho, keep them coming!

Good batrep guys. Interesting to see how Khorne Daemons did. Just a small correction, Bloodletters have Cleaving Blow, so 6’s to Wound stop any Armour and Regen Saves.

CleavingBlow only works against regular or heavy infantry (and regular or heavy cav and war beasts) so doesn’t affect the monstrous infantry Ogres 😊

Loved it! In Daemons T3 it would have been worth not following up with the flesh hounds as it would have allowed the Slaughtermaster to cast Trollguts and also given the Ogres an initiative bonus when attacking in the next turn. Properly unlucky day for Khorne.

Some rough rolling. Would like to see this replayed as if that DP has made it in (really no swiftstride?!?) and then round the back could have been much closer.

Yes but I probably wouldn’t have won that way! 😉😂 We said after the game that the points spent on the spell eater upgrade were probably wasted and would’ve been better spent on something like a second axe of Khorne on the other herald, or putting one of them on a blood throne for the impact hits

Think you were playing Maneaters as S4 with AB1 but they are strength 5 with (weirdly) no ap or ab unless it is a rule on their weapons.

In combat? I know their pistols are S4, -1, AB1 but maybe I was getting them confused with regular bulls and thought they were armour bane in combat too, my mistake!

Enjoyed the game. A couple of thoughts: @5:25 - You should give toothcracker a try instead. Having the cannibal banner means one unit already cannot benefit from trollguts, so toothcracker is more versatile and against str 4+ opponents, the math is just better because it prevents the wound without combat res. @17:45 - the leadbelchers need to pass a terror test before they stand and shoot.

I did start off using toothcracker in other games I played with ogres but because it only affects my unit for just my turn and not my opponents I found that I just wasn’t really getting the benefit enough of the time. Whereas with the cannibal totem and troll guts I can have two units with regen which I personally prefer. The leadbelchers themselves cause fear and as per the past paragraph of the terror special rule, only fear terror causing units

@@triplecrownwargaming- Thanks for the response. I can understand the reasoning on Toothcracker (and as an aside - I really dislike that some enchantments/hexes last different amounts of time). Regarding units that have the Fear special rule, please reread the Fear and Terror rules. The Fear rule explains that Fear causing units are immune to Fear. It does not give immunity to Terror. The Terror rule says that models that have Fear still Fear models that cause Terror (this is an exception to their immunity). It does not give models with Fear immunity to Terror (it says they Fear them, not that they "only" Fear them). The only models immune to Terror are those that cause Terror, although some special rules help deal with parts of the Terror rule (such as Frenzy / Immune to Psychology automatically passing Terror tests, but still take the -1 modifier to Leadership on Break tests).

@@d6wounds but if that were the case and Ive read that part wrong then a unit which itself caused Fear would be potentially worse off against a Terror causing unit than one that didn’t cause Fear; because it would both suffer from the effects of Terror and the possible effects of Fear (assuming US was higher etc.), and that doesn’t feel right at all

When shooting infantry with cannons as well, if you're in the front you can only hit 1 model per rank and same goes if you're in the flank except it goes in files. E.g. you shoot the front of an ogre unit, it's 3 deep. The line hit's 5 models going into the front, the amount of models hit is only 3 even though it hit more.

@@triplecrownwargaming Yeah, I won't lie that The Old World feels like bit of a let down for me, my group is going to stick with 8th edition for our games at home and leave old world to tournament play. Feeling a bunch of really bad changes just make the game a bit of an overall feels bad. The changes I think that didn't go well are: Ridden monsters, flat AP on weapons, magic system overall, no step up, armour bane as a janky 40k mechanic and the overall nerf to artillery that got hit doubly with the change to base size, partials and weakened damage output.

Ironically, those are all elements of Old World that I enjoy. The game feels overall smoother to play than any previous editions.

Yes stonethrowers are weaker atm. yes Certain ridden monsters ( basically only flying monsters, but there's a lot of them). But every other feature you mention I have experienced to be a benefit. I don't know if your army is artillery heavy, if so I understand the frustration. But this game system so far plays amazing. If balanced properly it a very dynamic, strategic system. Our friend group too, used to play 8th for the past years and it is an awesome system. I still feel like 8th is very cheesy in nature ( especially the magic phase can make the game very uninteractive.) Also I do admit, it got a bit stale to me.@@kinkymustard2301
