Warm Chocolate Melting Cake
******* Tom misspoke in the video. The correct amount is 1/2 cup of milk.
1 cup self-rising flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons PLUS 1/4 cup baking cocoa, divided
1/2 cup milk
3 Tablespoons oil
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 3/4 cup hot water
vanilla ice cream, optional
In a bowl, combined the flour, sugar, and 2 tablespoons cocoa. Stir in milk and oil until smooth. Pour into a greased 8 inch square baking dish. Combine the brown sugar and the remaining cocoa. Sprinkle this over the batter. DO NOT STIR! Pour hot water over the top. DO NOT STIR!!!
Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top of the cake springs back when lightly touched. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
NOTE: In place of self rising flour, you may place in a one cup measuring cup, 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoons of salt, and enough all-purpose flour to equal one cup.
