Eu gravei muitas k7 nesse modelo de gravador CCE ( do tempo q fazia coisas boas ). Ainda tenho um vintage de 1999, um AIWA CSD-ED78 tudo ok, acústica linda.

Yeah I remember buying many different kinds of stereo cassette decks in the 1970 and 80's at Tony Pilo's in Pottsville, Pa. I love the big VU meters lit up. I would sit it on the floor upstairs and put my pioneer headphones in and listen for hours to stuff I'd taped off the radio stations. I would even take the back off and put a bigger pully on so the tape would go faster and make a high speed reel-to-reel quality. The only problem was the 120 minutes tapes only lasted about half that long!

Heh, I used to have a Hitachi deck that looked similar to this. Man it would not stop blasting one channel way louder than the other even after a thorough cleaning. Oh well, it came free with a Hitachi receiver I bought from a guy so no complaints.

CCE - Collaro okay. I guessing this deck could be 40 years old. But was in made in the USA and marketed in the USA. I never heard of this brand. Thanks for showing it off. It must be well built for the year. Do I see a VU meter plug into it. Did the VU meter could with this deck.

Thanks. I purchased this deck in 1982 brand new, so it has 34 years old now. It was manufactured in Brazil. Yes, the mechanical VU meter is very cool and very useful to adjust the recording levels. Cheers!

@sorcerio, I'm not sure if it's the tape distortion that people associate with sentimental nostaliga, or the fact that record companies make CDs sound awful by rubbishing their dynamic range to make their CDs sound louder than the competition.

A recorder that complicated can sound much better...void that warranty and adjust the little screw near the playback head, called the Azimuth. You tune for maximum high end. There is no azimuth setting that will make it brighter than the original recording. Anything but the correct setting will produce a duller sound. Don't worry about making a tape screechy or annoying, you can use the PC to equalize it back out again once you burn a CD-R.

Cassette Quality Sucks, and MP3 audio sucks, this video has both! LOL! But good video demonstration, I always tried to choose CDs over cassettes because of the sound quality, but the nice thing about tape is that it makes everything sound warm and colours everything, something digital audio cannot do.

A good tape deck will not suck and keeping the heads clean helps with good sound. People were lazy and never cleaned their tape deck heads and guides then complained that the tapes sucked.
@Solitaire001

Jamesnov1970 You also had to demagnetize the heads on a regular basis to keep them from damaging the tape. Overall, the cleaning and demagnetizing took only a few minutes a week with regular use. I agree that cassette tapes had the potential to sound fairly good, it just took a little bit of effort to make good tapes and took the following: using good quality tapes, cleaning and demagnetizing the cassette deck on a regular basis, and having a good quality cassette deck.
