That explains why the price for it dropped so quickly. I was really thinking about getting the same scooter cause the air suspension and the huge battery. But was advised not to get it due to plastic parts.

Dualtron have said they will replace parts for me, but charge $160 for freight. Apparently, mine was fitted with the old M6 bolts. Dualtron made a change to M8 bolts and longer suspension rods. So this proves they definitely had issues with this model hence the need for change. it would be nice if they also sent the parts out to me at their cost, but maybe I'm being unreasonable? what do you think? Is this too much to ask for on a 4.6k scooter NZD that's still under warranty?

Im glad i did not buy that scooter iv known about it for a while it seemed sketchy to me. Not just the issue you're having but also that weak point that stem folding rugged clamp folding mechanism. Heard a review about that on this scooter that its not that good. Can get lose rock back and forth or maybe do creeking noise. Most dualtrons scooter folding lock mechanisms are junk they only good temporarily but in long run heard people been having issues with it. Plus they are over-priced and pretty ridiculous to adjust suspension by having to change cartridge smh 💯🤦

The suspension design on the dualtron thunder 3 looks way better. I should have gone for the simple design like that which is always best but I foolishly decided to go for something that looked fairly cool in design. Wrong choice on my part. I'm an idiot! your not.

@manif5761 don't get so down on yourself man. For price if money is stopping you, you could sell this one and look at a dualtron ultra 2 up. That's what I'm recommending my sister buy. The thunder 3 is 4k, but the ultra 2up is 2.5k, much lighter and same range. Less power of course but still.
@thomasK411

@@manif5761also the dualtron ultra 2 up still hits 55mph. The thunder 3 can get up to 65mph.

Scooters aren't made for hitting kerbs. You're probably too heavy for it too.

I'm 98kg and it's designed to handle max rider weight of 120kg. I was travelling at 10km per hour as confirmed by my GPS map data that logs every ride. This scooter is designed to do speeds of 90km/hr. Imagine the momentum force hitting a little bump at 90k. big difference to 10k. so no excuses dualtron, it's an absolute disaster of a design. It says you can adjust the height of the suspension but the manual doesn't show you how you can do it and the shop that sells and services them also didn't know how to do it. I'm a mechanical engineer and even I couldn't work it out, So I just rode it as it was set up from out of the box. The hydraulic suspensions are smooth compared to my other scooters like the zero10x which have a solid spring design. The retailer said they would contact Dualtron for parts to fix and we're waiting to hear back from them, however, I would rather they redesign or take it off the market as someone could die on this. Posting this will most likely reduce the likelihood of me getting a refund or support from Dualtron but people's lives are more important than money. If you're considering buying one of these, my advice is don't. At least not until Dualtron recalls it and comes up with a fix. Let's see if they truly value their customers.

@@manif5761 honestly any scooters on the market are all mostly made in China garbage.. especially the zero 10x you own. They are a disaster waiting to happen. The suspension on all those scooters are just a gimmick and are only on there to add comfort. If you were honest to your retailer about you skipping over a kerb, your warranty is out the window. I wouldn't even hassle your retailer about the problem, because it's not their fault. You should just straight contact the manufacturer. These scooters are just disposable ticking time bombs. Unless you build your own.

I bought it new in May 2023. It's only done about 720km on the clock. I was travelling at around 10km per hour coming into that drive way that you can see. I normally always lift the front wheel off the ground if I'm about to go over a bump and I did that in this occasion also. so the front wheel cleared the bump and the back wheel should have just gone over it with the moment but that's when it collapsed onto it's belly and slid along . you can see the scratch marks in the middle of the footpath at 0.04seconds of the video. I'll try and post some photos of underneath. (need to get the shop to send me some photo's)
