I’ve had 3 RA Drs over the past 5 years. Not one of them ever told me RA can impact my lungs. I will talk to my RA Dr. about this on my next appointment. Thank you for your time that you spend on your videos educating people like me with RA. I’m so grateful for your channel.

@@janecooper3783 isn’t this crazy!! I don’t understand why RA Specialists aren’t communicating this. It’s apparently vital information that RA patients would want to know. I see my RA Dr. this Wednesday and I’m going to address this with her.

I've had active RA for almost 20yrs. Immuno globulan testing shows my lungs are my only immuno weakness (had alot of pneumonia) Just had all of the post-Covid lung & cardiac testing done. Feel blessed to have gotten the all clear. My advice is to NOT delay treatment & be patient until you find what works for you. I absolutely detested the Mtx, 1st line treatment & was glad when it stopped working for me! Then on to Humira (didn't touch the RA), then Xeljanz (a good med that didn't hold my RA back). Finally, on to Actemra infusions, that has held me for years without any side effects! Having worked n medical clinics, I saw patients w disfigurements, nodules, & mobility issues that delayed treatment but the damage is permanent. Of note: I did see a Naturopathic Dr as well, to learn of natural means to handle the fatigue & keep my immune system in shape...worth it!

Thank you for your educational videos; I really appreciate them. I was diagnosed with RA two months ago and was referred to a rheumatologist who started me on chronic treatment. I was never informed that RA could affect my lungs. I remember being hospitalized for five days two years ago due to breathing difficulties and strange lung noises. They told me it was due to acid reflux. I now realize that some people can have lung problems related to RA without knowing it. Since watching your videos, I've changed my diet and feel much better.

Thanks for doing this video. Both my mother and her brother died due to the RA damage to their lungs. Unfortunately, the DMARDs had not come out until they had been sick for quite a while, so for a long time they were treated just with prednisone and methotrexate. Also, my mother initially was misdiagnosed, due to being rheumatoid factor negative, and didn’t get good care until she moved to a large city after she became quite disabled. My mother lost about 30 percent of her lung capacity, which was a factor in her death after getting a bad respiratory infection. I hope viewers of this video will get better care, thanks to the info you provide.

Hope, it was that simple… not it’s not. RA is the most life harassing , painful & antagonising disease after Cancer. There is no cure sadly. The only to fight or deal with it is to remain consistent with ur doctor”s treatment, healthy diet, intermittent fasting & regular workouts. Don’t rely too much on biologics & janus kinase Treatments either as they will make you put on exorbitant amount of weight. Try, sticking to DMARDS mainly. Rest, try to be as much mobile as possible & drink regular herbal teas to soothe ur gut. Try ur best to heal ur body, stay away from toxic assholes & yes stress!!! Rest, don’t worry, God is gr8 🙌🏻😇, he will make you get through this with flying Colors!!!! Take care, Xoxo❣️

I have also been trying different dietary changes.

I had Chikungunya in 2010 very painful experience. Swelling of the body won't go even after two years. That was the time joint pain and stiffness started. My blood test never confirmed RA+. I didn't see Rheumatologist for another two yrs. Finally it was decided that I take the treatment for three months if it helps I continue the treatment. I have been taking the treatment since then. Till now my blood test doesn't show Iam RA+. but joint stiffness, pain persist. Shape of my palms is changed a little. I have dry eyes, my muscle gets tired very easily, I am thirsty at night. I still suspect am I RA+? How do I confirm?

For 3+ years I have had repeated Upper Respiratory infections (requiring never ending cycle of prednisone/antibiotics), very extreme fatigue, dyspenia; and we are working on a possible diagnosis for worsening symptoms that present as ILO/VCD. I have been researching but do you have any information you can point me towards re: Larynx, upper tracheal/esophogeal ailments related to your field? Thank you Doctor 🙏 Can nodules in the lungs be misstaken for Sarkoidos? Or arw they the same thing? My mother had lung probloms for many years and was diagnosed with & treated for Sarkoidos. She was also diagnosed with Sjögrens disease. By the end of her life she got rheumatoid arthritis nodules & deformities to her hands. Could it all have been just RA? That went undetected until the end with her hands? She had joint problems too throughout her life, most prominently her knees that were considered to have arthritis, but she also had back pain on and off. I’m not sure what tests the doctors took or if they used a holistic approach or just looked at one issue at the time. We are not in the US and I suspect they may have diagnosed from clinical findings only? But cant be sure. I only know she died too soon (at 74) from many complications and her immune system attacking her blood and entire system at the end). Oh, she was also anemic always. Her blood cells were smaller that normal witch caused this. It’s apparently hereditary since she passed this on to one of my brothers. Sorry but I can’t remember the name of this condition. Anyways. I wonder if all her problems could have been RA all along? I have some similar issues and problems and wondering if it may have passed on to me. But above all it’s the Sarkoidos part. Is it possible to misstake them for RA nodules in the lungs?
