Hard feelings on that first match deferring. After your first give to your opponent with the scythe bump, he owed you one! Had one gentleman go from charge phase (his turn) into combat phase. He picked a unit to fight. Before he rolled any of his dice, I asked if we could hold on for a moment and let me do my monstrous actions. He denied me.... but I ended up winning from a cheeky seraphon dino summon at the last round, making a 9" charge with it. Guy was so angry he didn't stick around to accept 2nd place award. Oh well! Thanks for the upload!

Oof, sorry to hear that, but glad it worked out in the end! I wouldn't say he owed me one, in those kinds of situations all I can do is choose to do what's right and hope they do the same!

Not calling a TO over is something I don't understand. Why have them if you're not going to use them, you're not the one creating a scene, he is by being unsportsmanlike and causing the need for one.
@warpfireminis

In this specific instance it was going to turn into my word versus his word since he was just claiming my measurements were wrong. Calling a judge over in that situation puts the judge in an awkward position, and even if the judge ruled in my favor it's just going to leave my opponent with a sour taste in their mouth against the judge, the event, and myself. Instead I showed him what I could, left it up to him to do the right thing, and just have to live with the result. I've lost plenty of games of Warhammer, another one isn't the end of the world haha.

Also want to add, it is very instructive how you a couple of times let opponent take the center, and you focus on denying the two flank objectives. Seems like a very strong gameplan in general when you have gnawhole mobility. Some battleplans will not work the same way, like the pulse maybe. Which battleplan do you think is best/worst for your list, in general?
@warpfireminis

The only mission where I've felt at a disadvantage is Icefields, and that's mostly due to the large deployment zones making it tough to take more turn 1 and if your opponent is a shooting army they can just play back for a couple turns while peppering you to death. In those kinds of situations this list can still just go for the alpha and Gnawhole one threat up, Skitterleap another, and then Warp-grinder in a third to just try and make something happen.

I hate playing with people like your first opponent... I remember my first ever Blood Bowl league where I versed a player and he was new. So I gave him advice during the game that helped him score a touchdown. Sportsmanship even among toy soldiers should be paramount. But alas, there are dickheads who hate losing and do everything to win

Any tips facing a Stormcast Vexillor list with 3x vexillors?
@warpfireminis

- Make sure you have Clanrat screens in the front and sides to make sure Annihilators can't just hit your good stuff. - Make sure Grey Seers are within 3" of Clanrats to shrug wounds. - Spread out your Plague Priests so that they don't both get hit at the same time, they're the weak link with no shrug. - Try to prepare for the double the best you can, if they get it it's pretty devastating. If you can double screen things that's the best, but other than that do things like stack the Verminlords behind each other so they both aren't wide open to Grandhammer charges when your Clanrats go down. Try to keep a Blizzard Wizard in the back, but within 12" of them to swing things back, get Mystic Shield on the front one, time Finest Hour for the same turn, stomp to try and kill one, and then All-Out-Defense and you may be able to take the hit.

Ya, great recap, love the comment about GW showing up and listening to top level players - then we know it has a future. I am still new to AOS, played a lot of Warhammer Fantasy Battle though, Skaven is my first and preferred list - emotions spike when I play them. I am glad you mentioned the challenges with measuring and movement vs. being out of range (game 1), and no judgement about either side from me - it was what it was, and it was the crucial moment for both - just too bad it came up like that.

Enjoyed all your views .. congrats on your golden ticket and how you did at the world championships. Was looking around for an answer to this, maybe you can help: Can Skyre Acolytes (Range 9 missile Weapons), hit an enemy unit 9" away, the same turn coming out of a Gnaw Hole or Drill Team? Thanks
@warpfireminis
9 ай бұрын
All of the deepstrikes are phrased that you have to be "more than 9" from all enemy units" so you technically drop them 9.1" away and wouldn't be able to shoot with the Acolytes. I wish you could though, that'd turn them into a serious contender!
@awesomemusicstudio

Thank you for your response. I expected that answer, but was wishful thinking that I didn't consider something. >> So I was watching your recent tournament recap videos and noticed your PCB with the Drill Team didn't hit their charges very often even with three attempts(With the Master Clan + reroll etc). However, your PCBs near your battleline consistently seemed to do great, specially cuz of Deathfrenzy. I got some drill teams for myself recently, so I used ChatGBT to try to calculate some probabilities. Seems like the chances to hit at least 9 within three attempts is actually only about 62%. (Which leaves close to a 40% chance of a PCB / Drill team .. well you know). But what's more, is from the point of view of a 5 game tournament span, there is a 20% greater chance of hitting it 1,2 or 3 times, than 3, 4 or 5 times. (Exactly three times is the greatest chance, but hitting it 2 times out of 5 games is more probable than 4). So as much as I love that idea of the PCB in a drill team (And I thank you for the cool idea), So in context of a tournament, I'm not sure a shenanigan that is likely to be effective only 2 or 3 times is as good as it sounded before trying to calculate it. I could be wrong, Im no math major myself, but I spent a solid amount of time trying different variables. I just though I'd let you know my findings, as I think I heard you say (Around 70%) .. and I think I watched some interview with some other Skaven Player suggesting a Masterclan "Deepstrke" working 65%-75% of the time .. and I started to wonder if this number was going around that was somewhat misleading. Because from that point of view it sounds great .. but another point of view - so-so. Thank you!! and thanks for your cool videos.@@warpfireminis

would you consider cutting one grey seer on foot and a priest to get a screaming bell an improvement for this list? or do the foot heroes make battle tactics that much easier?
@warpfireminis
9 ай бұрын
You need a lot of heroes to help score your Grand Strategy; it's also a place where the Bell/Furnace lists shine since they're very durable. With the Bells you're playing more of a control game and aren't going out to try and murder your opponent, so dropping the Warbringer to add in some Bells + Furnace would likely be the move to lean into that style of play.

It’s a shame for the first round but I really hope you realise you started the problem. In a game that I had lost matches for 0.1” I d consider you a bad opponent when you lax move models. I d say you re not experienced enough but you were in worlds so you have no excuses for being like that. I hope you ll start playing more clearly to make it better for everyone ! Other than that, I never knew this channel until now and I find the battle recap you are doing VERY VERY interesting. Love it
@warpfireminis

Appreciate the feedback and wanted to chime in that I don't "lax move" models; exact measurements are very important. That said, when you're moving a unit with multiple models it's common practice to measure the first couple and then move the others behind as long as you clearly aren't moving those the full max; it takes too much time to measure every single model in a big squad, especially in a tournament setting. That's something that everyone does in every Age of Sigmar game I've ever played, including my round 1 opponent moving his own models and myself multiple times earlier in that same game without complaint. Additionally making a move with a unit, measuring that all the models are in buff/aura range, and then adjusting the movement (within your movement speed) to make sure everyone is in is also standard procedure and something that was done on both sides multiple times earlier in this game. As far as what to do to avoid those instances in the future, the best thing to do is just say your intent out loud as you're doing every move. If I had said, "I'm moving outside of 12" of the Glottkin" the situation could have possibly been avoided altogether, so that's the lesson learned.
