The fact that this sounds like a love song, but has such a deeper and darker meaning for his heartbreak makes it stand out so much. As the song progresses, the life in it starts to change. Usually songs are straight forward with one particular theme or idea, Jani tells a story. This track really, really grew on me. The video itself of him in the cemetery singing alone just does it for me. Rest In Peace Jani Lane, thank you for helping me along my journey and being a light to the world even when yours was mostly enveloped in darkness. I'd have to think you're somewhere wonderful now.

You have such a sensible soul my friend. I wish there were more people like you out there man. This is really what we all need: someone that takes out the pain stuck somewhere deep inside for reasons we can only guess. We don't know what we miss, but we know we miss something. When we come to world, we are all left with a hole we'll never fill. I don't know what it is. I only know we all have it. Some people like me try to navigate what's behind and when we come again in the surface, everything has changed. You'll never be the same man. You'll carry on your life like a robot most of the times, but you'll feel that pain always there, ready to bite you.

There was always such innocence and truth in his voice: makes me want to cry like a little child every time I hear Jani sing his heart out. I get instant goosebumps just listening to the first few seconds of any of Warrant's ballads. In fact, "Heaven" and "I Saw Red" were the first two songs I learnt how to sing and play on my acoustic guitar, when I was a kid. To the greatest and meekest singer/song writer/musician of my teens and youth: "Thank you Jani Lane for ROCKING MY WORLD and making my highschool, college and university days so much FUN: you were one of my BIGGEST INSPIRATIONS to pursue my passion of singing and playing guitar. Thanks to you, today I am a humble hobbyist and your loyal fan FOREVER"..... REST IN PEACE BRO! :'(

I can feel his soul and their music deeply and they just had a better tone and clarity in their music, message, and god his words flow so well like beautiful poetry. I feel warrant out of most bands in the glam hair metal times of the 1980s 1990s Warrant were true and real musicians and people. I would have loved to see them and meet Mr.Lane. Beautiful talent.

The fact that this is a low budget video dont matter a bit, Jani's talent speaks for itself. We lost a great rock icon. RIP Jani

Love ur comment, agreed. For me old rock is Jimi Hendrix, Janice joplin, a.c./DC, bad company, foreigner, Cinderella, Ratt, CCR. THEN ONTO 80's with warrant, winger, GNR, etc. I kinda got lost in 90's raising two sons so maybe you could recommend some others 4me to check out? Isn't it great that we have tech that allows us and our children to still enjoy this music? Thanks.

Another tortured soul. It's absolutely heartbreaking. His was an immense talent and that's indisputable. Take care everyone. Don't let demons kill your beautiful soul.

I'm happy to have run across this acoustic version!!!! My favorite is the piano version though with guitar and drums. I've been trying to master this song vocally myself because it's lyrics are deep, raw and beautiful!!!! I just change a few word's in it because I'm a female. Love, love, love this song!!!!!!

I've always loved everything I've known by Warrant, but tonight is the first time I've listened to this... It just makes me that much more sorry Jani Lane is gone. It was such a tragedy that he died so young. He had a remarkable voice, and this song just makes me that much more aware of it. RIP, Jani. Wish I'd been around at the height of your fame and had the opportunity to see you live. They just don't make music like this anymore. But then again, there aren't musicians like Jani anymore. The late 70s to the mid 90s were a golden era in music - especially rock music. Sadly, I was born in 92 and missed it all. :(
