I would rate Coolidge somewhere in the middle (ie low 20s). Around where I might rank Clinton or Grant. He may be as close to a ‘Libertarian’ President as we’ve had. I do think there’s something to be said that ‘it’s better to be lucky than good’ in some cases; I think there have been several relatively ‘lucky’ presidents-economically and in foreign policies--Coolidge, Reagan and Obama come to mind in that sense. Im not saying those presidents were bad--only maybe a tad overrated. Of course, purely speculation since we will never know for sure, but I suspect our country may not have fared much better during the Great Depression under his leadership than Hoover, had Coolidge done a second term.

Fun fact: Saturday Night Live debuted in 1975 on NBC, but it was a follow-up retake of Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell on ABC from earlier in the year. The jingle was "Saturday Night Live, Live Saturday Night!" Howard Cosell, the youngest US Army major specialising in military propaganda, and the programming machine continues decades later, it must be inducing the masses.

I got my best dose of U.S. history in eighth grade(65years ago). That’s when I first became aware of Harding. Since my mother was 8-11 during his administration, I asked her if she remembered anything about him dying in office. She told me it was rumored at the time that his wife had poisoned him because she was afraid he was going to be impeached. I don’t think any journalists investigated back then. I am guessing that the attitude was that the pressures of the presidency had killed Wilson and then Harding. If Coolidge was investigating, why pursue a rumor that was seemingly unfounded?

People like Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew are not "pedophiles" in the traditional sense like that creepy uncle who gets turned on by children -- instead they are simply perverts who have been free to experience all the perversions they can handle - as soon as they get bored with one perversion they move on to something more perverted. They don't have a thing for children, they have a thing for the perversion they haven't tried yet. With a society more and more accepting of perversion, the powerful people experience them more freely and go through them more quickly. For them, children are just something they can try when they get bored of the last thing they tried. So with what used to be called "perversion" now considered normal behavior -- look out kids!

@@tarheelsfan8816 I have no ruler over me but The One who sits on high, friend; so I guess you would say I live by a theocracy. A democracy (especially coupled with capitalism) is built to implode on itself because it can never rest with its so-called progressive and (especially in capitalism) very selfish ideologies. When you live by people's wants & needs instead of God's direction you can never be satisfied (or truly free), just a society filled with emptiness - people as bottomless pits. But, it's a sham because "the people" really don't run things anyway, even the presidents (who are SElected not Elected) are only pawns - but still connected; connected in the sense that you have to be of a royal bloodline from the 13 British families to even be in the pool - yes, even Obama is related (through Cheney). And if you don't go along with what the money-'lending' Zionists want, they'll just get rid of you; just ask the 4 presidents who were assassinated. So you see that every U.S. citizen is a legal slave now through a fancy scabbard called democracy, which is just a nicer form of communism because believe me when I say your government rules - they can claim Imminent Domain on anything at anytime and there wouldn't be a thing you could do about it. I know this is more than what you were expecting, but it was necessary so you would know where I'm coming from.

AND YET he solved the second greatest depression in US History, the post WW1 one of 1919-20, in just 18 months! Yup, 18 months the economy had recovered to the same output level as in 1920. It took 19 years after the greatest depression of 1945-48, yet only 18 months under Harding. We never really recovered from the minor downturn in 1929 under FDR before war ensued. Maybe there is a bias that makes people, like you, blind to all his accomplishments. Maybe the pro-socialist outlook of modern historians has them shading the real history.

We got weekends off starting in the Roaring 20's. Harding's economy was so good, one year GDP grew 14%!!!! It caused a labor shortage, causing wages to rise and giving increased benefits to retain workers...INCLUDING weekends off.
