By the way ... Warrendale born, Warrendale raised. 7600 block of Rosemont. 82-96 & sporadically from then til present day. All I hear from people is how bad it has gotten, their all moving out, or have been out for a while. Has it seen better days? Obviously. HOWEVER, I'm not one of those people over exaggerating the situation. It sucks to remember I used to walk to & from school, ride bikes EVERYWHERE. One time I even found what seemed to be a track to race bicycles in woods by rouge, right off Warren. Now if u plan on going for a walk, run, etc... u gotta worry about taking protection with you. You gotta worry about someone breaking in your house while your taking that run/walk. Then EVEN IF U ARE home, there's a chance a bullets hitting your house, taking out windows, & IF u can go to sleep, u worry about waking up with your car on blocks, assuming they didn't go ahead & steal the entire car itself. This is just the reality of living there. Say what you will, but the negatives I speak of are true. & when you don't have a bunch of money, paying for some of the damages, or replacing things can sometimes be too much. Everything I speak of is from experience. May sound strange, but I still love Detroit/Warrendale. That's where my heart is! I'll never forget where I came from, & the lessons I learned in my time spent there.

My family’s been there since the fifties. Left in ‘99. The area is not recognizable to that which I remember it. When they moved the rats out of Herman gardens into the neighborhood, that was the last straw. You can thank Coleman Young and all the loony liberals that have run the city for the last 50 years for its demise.

The problem seems to be a denominator that we'll be branded as racist if we address it.

The problem with the area is the police are under funded an you have a lot of corrupt people in the community organization. Fallowed by a corrupt radio patrol. Pay to play community.

Is it true, Frank? You'll never be paid in pizza from Gracie's that they sold that land with the lot & the party store. Obviously closing down, making way for some type of strip mall???
