Now this was a band. Saw them 'live in 91 in Halifax and they took my head off ...incredible. RIP Mark Evans..such a tight drummer. The sound is off a bit but I don't care. Pete McClanahan is the coolest bass player..he is like Sid Vicious but with talent. Johnny is a pilot now. So glad this moment in time was captured..I wish this band could have stayed together forever. Lightning in a bottle.

Every other year this band would roll through glasgow either supporting or main act, ended up seeing them more times than any other band. Staring at Kory's "Chris, all the best on your traffic tickets! Kory" that I got some point in '95. Walking down the hill into donnington to hear them on the big stage at half ten in the morning is a good memory I have, they were pretty well received then too. Big part of my life for quite a long time. RIP Evans, no way to go.

First saw them supporting Metallica in London (I think) at Wembley. Album had just hit and Korey's face was on the front of all the usual mags. Thought they were amazing and followed them since. Thing is, they never got big - Never even got much recognition at all. Despite it, he's been plugging away for what must not be 30+ years - Still doing the same thing, still angry, still clearly doing it because he has a passion for it and he's got some fucking integrity. Can't imagine the guy has had it easy all this time, playing tiny venues and the odd festival, trying to get records released etc. so I have a lot of respect for him. This show has a brilliant set-list too - proper old school WS.

This is the 10th anniversary show on 28th Sep 2000. They released the Classics CD about 2 months later. The SAP tracks on there are the original versions and this is the only show I know of where the Ricco/Evans line-up play songs from that album. Cut from the video is a couple of minutes where Ricco forgets the riff for Rotten Soul and starts playing The Drug instead. Pete shows him the riff while Kory chats with the crowd and starts the Ghetto Nation chant you see in the vid.

Such a quality neat genre defying band who did their own thing and too punk for the rock crowd and far too hard rockin' for the punks while only marginally appealing to the more open minded metallers. I always thought they brought things back to the proto punk rawness of the MC5, The Stooges, The Dictators and The NYC Dolls with a dash of Led Zep thrown in while combusting a total 80's hardcore blistering attitude The point is they've been so overlooked and should have been way much bigger. A long time fave of mine.
