In one of Tyson’s interview, he says that his main aim was to make Cus proud cause he was a father figure to him and he never received the love and support of his real father and he now understands how kids feel when they’re not able to make their fathers proud. And he also says that Cus never let any negativity come close to him and always kept saying things like he’s ferocious, vicious etc. So I don’t think he was actually hypnotised and I’m guessing that he was always in the presence of positivity and the strong belief of Cus that he was made to believe all these great powerful scary things about himself.

Speaking as a psychotherapist... you are correct. What Cus provided was unconditional positive regard. For children who have experienced multiple adverse childhood experiences, neglect, physical, mental, sexual abuse, they often have reactive or anxious attachment styles towards the primary caregiver. Cus provided good parent, and Mike didn't want to lose that safe place, that holding environment, that Mike didn't have as a kid.. he knew that his new loving father wanted a world champion...so he busted his ass to make dad proud, out of love and fear of losing Cus.

I know one of Mike's former promoters and he said that Mike was bipolar, and that his handlers would take him off his meds before a fight. @@yamommyromsies6418 yeah, absolutely ridicolus to think otherwise. Just check out the story about the LA Lakers in the 80s and Magic's coke & groupy orgies. Lakers+enemy team+LA society met there to do drugs. Quite eye opening about that time. 80's were damn crazy man. I argue that in all sports, semi professional and upwards, there's still a tiny percentage of people not being on enhancers and other kind of drugs. Werdum was caught on fucking tren, just type tren side affects in youtube and get yourself some reviews to find out how crazy that must be. Look at Tito's chin when he was young and now, growth hormonez made his face grew like almost double its size. Also people tend to think one could tell by how jacked someone is about usage but that is not how it works.. not everyone has Ubereem genetics, just look at royce when he got busted, did not look jacked at all. Then check out that juggernaut fitness weirdo on youtube, he is on massive amounts on roids and has an ugly dad bod and mediocre lifting numbers. Reality is that even it planet shitness, there is at least 10% roided up. When you get an ad on facebook, the fitness model is most likely roided up. Fitness chicks? Roided up. Hollywood actor gets a superhero role? 6months of roids, but they tell you about his meal and trainingplan only. Now, why would an elite combat sports athlete NOT be on roids if that little kid in my gym is? Honestly, substance abuse still is one of the biggest open secrets around and I wish people would realize it more, because it lead directly to the multi billion fraud of the supplement industry and to body-image disorders in the process. Just seperate natural from enhanced, no one argues about seperating female from male in sports because it makes sense and is fair, where is the difference if you compare roid user to not user, it is the same siuation as with amateur to pro or kids to grown ups.

Nah I’ll go out on a limb and say being freakishly strong, athletic, aggressive, and totally immersed in boxing from a young age is why Mike Tyson was great

Has anyone ever asked Brad Pitt to tell the story about Mike Tyson? I'd love to hear his version.

Im sure he doesn't like to remember, but he would probably try to make himself sound a little bit better than him running away and pissing himself. If anything have Robin tell it, I'm sure she would be happy to just because it's gossip and bitches love to gossip, especially when they are involved. And it's a brag for her, saying she was with Brad Pitt when her Ex Mike Tyson came back and scared Pitt. You can't tell me a female wouldn't consider that a flex

No! It is not "the" reason. Tyson was an amalgamation of many things before he even started boxing. Some components were survive and fear. He met someone who honed his skills and gave him technique and a personal method on fighting, that also loved him. I don't know if it's hypnotism honestly. It's getting someone to embrace the feral self. It doesn't work as easily as that though. It's more. Tyson was almost blessed in that someone knew what he had. Tyson did not and never would have.

6:25 to 6:32. That is such a succinct truth, I want to clip and share it.
