Maybe we should be taking 5 mins a day to pray for Taylor I think that would be a lot more constructive than ignoring her completely and trying to put her out of your mind…. I do remember some false prophets of the Charismatic persuasion saying Kanye West was going to bring many to Christ blah blah. I think many were blinded by his fame & wealth when he 'converted' along with his Sunday services. It's always good to observe and watch the fruit of a convert long term instead of getting hyped up with their fame and wealth.

Aw Allie 😢😂 you don’t have to explain yourself girl. You have thousands of fans who appreciate your insight even if we don’t always agree , and we love you & know your heart & head are in the right place. But I’m still glad you said something, people really need to take the specks out of their own eyes, it is BAD online. I try to talk to people the same way I would to their faces, and remind myself that Jesus knows everything I think say and do 😂 it’s a good etiquette practice to live by ❤ bless you Allie , wishing you much success& keeping you & your family always in my prayers ❤

I agree. I didn’t feel Allie needed to explain herself. This culture today believes you have to agree with them on everything or else you’re an enemy. These are some of the loneliest and most miserable people in the world bc they have no friends. No two people agree on everything, whether that’s your spouse, friends etc. People have to learn how to agree to disagree and still maintain healthy relationships.

I read a lot of the comments on said episode, and I don’t think people were being unloving. I think they were just voicing feedback and disagreement and I don’t think people should be shamed for or admonished for that.. a lot of people even specifically stated , “I’m saying this with a loving tone”. I’m actually a little take back by the response. As listeners I think people should be allowed to voice disagreement just as much as Allie should be able to voice her thoughts.

In regards to your beginning comments about receiving backlash on your opinions. I understand the frustration & i genuinely am interested to hear how you reconcile the fact that you have an entire career giving your opinions on people & informing people. So, if someone comments with negativity, shouldn’t that come with the territory? - just like the pastors that you speak of or criticize (now, I agree with you on most of it). They get tons of negative feedback (like from you). So I’m just wondering how you reconcile it being OK for you. Also, no, you’re not a pastor- but you have a large following & so I’m sure you take that seriously, but you are also called to a higher standard & I think that it is important to not expect everyone, especially on the internet to react the way you’d like them to. You are a teacher whether you label it that way or not. You’re educating people. In very controversial topics. It’s not an easy calling & you will receive backlash.

Allie, I love and respect your podcast but I feel like you mischaracterized those who commented on your video about Taylor Swift. I just went back to look at the comments to see what you were talking about and yes, some of the comments were negative but for the most part it looked like people passionately expressing their convictions and disagreements with you and your producer on some things that were said. You oftentimes come across as very passionate and strongly opinionated in your videos, if those who watch your podcast come across in the same way, why take offense? I don’t think you desire for only people who agree with you 100% to watch your videos and sometimes I think it’s good to appreciate the seemingly “negative” responses as well as the good ones. I think most of the people who commented probably love your podcast and have shared it and supported it for awhile. Just some food for thought. May the Lord bring about unity and peace amongst those who are His and may He use us all to sharpen and edify one another. 🙏🏽 We all are seeking to honor Him at the end of the day.

I felt and thought the exact same. I went back and read, and it seemed for the most part passionate and honest responses of disagreement, but also many specific references to “saying this in love”. I think Allie attracts passionate believers because of her own passion and they weren’t really speaking differently than she would when addressing something she disagrees with. I pray for humility all the way around. I don’t think it would be a good atmosphere for listeners to feel lectured when they disagree, or to not have the opportunity for iron to sharpen iron. A lot if important thoughts were shared and I think it’s valuable to think on all of it.

Allie - I’m sorry you’ve been getting so many awful comments! I have to say, I’ve been listening to you for years and I think this is the first time I’ve left a comment. I think there is a silent majority of your followers who understand it’s normal to disagree on certain things, and don’t leave comments because they understand it. For instance, I just converted to the Catholic Church this year from the United Methodist Church and there are certain theological subjects I disagree with you on, but that’s okay! I hugely admire your love for the lord and your frequent reference of scripture on your shows, and the reverence that exemplifies that you have for the Bible. I enjoy your humor and opinions, and agree with you wholeheartedly on politics and cultural issues. I have no problem that we have differences in opinion when it comes to Christianity. Anyway, I just hoped to encourage you that there are a lot of viewers who have no problem when there are differences in opinion, understand nuance, and largely don’t leave comments because they don’t feel the need to. The comments aren’t always representative of your larger audience. Thank you to you, Brie, and your team for everything you guys do! I really, really appreciate having a biblically based, sane, nuanced, and hugely enjoyable show like yours that comments on modern culture. It’s seriously so important! Thank you!!

I admit that I have acted poorly at times while disagreeing with certain subjects, but I’m certainly not going to stop watching a channel over it.. I’m really not surprised about Kanye West. It’s sad, but predictable because he loves his money and fame. Continued prayers, but it feels as though he made a choice of being in and OF the world. 😔 I don’t watch movies or listen to temporal and carnal music. K-Love is all I can listen to these days. Everything else disturbs my soul. It’s extremely difficult to be the light in a world that is growing ever darker by the day. We need to fill ourselves with the Word and prayer to keep ourselves firmly on the rock in these last days. May we finish this race well, in alignment with Christ Jesus. 🩸✝️🩸🙏🙏

I know a ton of people who listened to Christian music, and sought the Lord during Kanye's time of seeking Jesus Christ. Let us pray for believers who are struggling with sin and temptation. Those who are most boisterous about their faith (i.e., Kanye), may be attacked the hardest by the enemy. Scripture warns of this. Let us not judge what could be a spiritual battle.

We really need to make a better effort to avoid celebrity worship on the right. The support of Kanye during his pseudo-conservative run should have been calling balls and strikes with what he was saying/doing at the time and that's it. Nobody should have been declaring that he was now saved, or that he was now some sort of leader of our conservative movement because he showed up in a red hat at the eleventh hour. The dude has always seemed nuts, so supporting him unconditionally was always a mistake, but even if he seemed genuine, we should only be advocating ideas and principles unconditionally, not people. People will always let us down in at least some way because we're all flawed. That's why even the "I love Trump" people should change to being "I love x and y principles, and currently Trump pushes for those better than any other national candidate" people.

correction lot of the new rappers don't have nursery rhymes....they don't rhyme at all....its actually hard writing sensible rhymes.... there is a skill to writing rhymes but lot of the new popular talent today have taken the rhyming out of their raps. in fact many of them now are not even writing down anything on paper. they instead are just going in the studio and rapping or mumbling what ever comes to mind. This is why they tend to unintentionally confess to crimes they may have been involved with. just thought i'd put it out there. you'd be surprised at how many rappers do actually have a musical background....but i do agree that some of these new popular acts probably lack musical talent and have perhaps compromised themselves plenty..... but talented artist also compromise themselves this is just part of the industry when it comes to getting to that next level.

This is what happened to Kanye West. "For if, after they have escaped from the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and they are again entangled in these things and succumb to them, the last state has become worse for them than the first." - 2 Peter 2:20. And continuing "For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than having known it, to turn back from the holy commandment that had been delivered to them. The statement of the true proverb has happened to them, “A dog returns to its own vomit,” and “A sow, after* washing herself, returns* to wallowing in the mud." - 2 Peter 2:21-22.

@simply.... I agree, Kanye would have had a better chance at being well grounded and established I Christ if he had the right discipleship and that's why these false mega Churches that may appeal to celebrities and would be better placed to disciple them are doomed for judgement coz they are instead leading them astray. I blame these false teachers more than Kanye coz he's likely to have trusted them coz they are popular. Instead they just give these celebs platforms so that they may attract more people I agree also that celebs who get born again should get out of the limelight for awhile to work on their salvation coz it's so easy to be sucked back into the world if you don't take root. Matt 13: 1-23 I wasn't skeptical about Kanye's conversion coz noone is beyond redemption including satanists, a no. of whom have come to Christ and are really plundering hell and doing great exploits for the Kingdom of God😊...

I think his influence plays a major part in the people around him(his handlers), his admitted addiction to porn, and the elites that stole half of his earnings snd threaten his family life by giving him drugs and institutionalize him keeps him trapped. He would have to leave his wealth behind to be saved.

Allie you’re most definitely allowed to say that modern day hip hop and rap has a negative influence on the culture and even take it a step further to say that these black artists are sexualizing and exploiting themselves and aren’t doing anything good for their own people. Before anyone wants to possibly get upset just know I’m a mixed race person and even if I wasn’t it’s just the truth. We can’t have a conversation about uplifting the black community unless the depravity of the hip hop industry is addressed and take a look at what it’s really doing to our people. In black households I’ve seen first hand how this music takes root in children starting at the ripe age of 2 & 3 and the fruits that it bears in them. They are aggressive, disrespectful, abusive, amongst other things. Of course not all black toddlers but I’ve seen this frequently. This music is poison to their minds and the parents don’t care, the older siblings don’t care, and the teachers have to deal with it. We also can’t have a conversation about white people tryna attack and tear down the black community or family unless we also address what we ourselves are doing to our own people within our community. Otherwise it’s hypocrisy. It’s more productive for us to take a look at ourselves and our community and clean up our act before tryna clean up someone else’s. We can control what we do at the end of the day and that’s all that matters. Forget tryna control and fix how others act.

Mam, with all due respect - THIS DID NOT JUST START. The only difference is now the women are sexualizing themselves while black male rappers own the companies. Before it was black men regaling the public with tales of violence, black on black crime, and the degradation of women. Hell, Uncle Snoop paraded around with pimps in the 2000s. My childhood saw a culture that praised men who sold girls and women.

Agreed. I believe trauma has caused a lot of mental illness in the Black community & the music promotes dysfunction & narcissism. If personality disorders can’t be cured, it’s safe to say that many will never take accountability or break out of the victimhood mentality.

My comment keeps being deleted. My point is that it is not “modern day” hip hop. It is hip hop for 30 years, before any of us were born. Rap albums were the first to reach the billboard #1 spot without radio play. This was due to the albums being too explicit and violent for radio. The only difference now is that the labels are now owned by the rappers themselves and the women are exploiting themselves instead of the male rappers. We do history a disservice by implying the degeneracy and promotion of violence just started.

@@carrington2949well, I’m older than 30. To my knowledge, there aren’t any labels owned by artists, at least none that are generating revenue. Care to share who these artists are? If anything, the major labels also own/ finance indie labels so that artists can spin the narrative of being independent. Just more smoke & mirrors. The enemy doesn’t present itself as hideous in anyway, the decline of the music & increased degeneracy has taken place over time. So much so, that Black ppl disrespect each other, themselves , glorify baby momma culture, sexual deviance & murder. To claim it’s “just entertainment” as many do is mental illness within itself. LVMH was already worth more than $80 billion, then doubled its income in 5 years partially bc rappers promote all of their brands for free. Lyor Cohen has an interview on the Breakfast Club, telling a mostly Black audience that he signs artists that promote drug use “because he has a family to feed”. Even hearing it from the horses mouth doesn’t deter Black ppl from ingesting poison.

Kanye has severe mental health issues and goes from extreme to extreme constantly. He might be a Muslim in 2 months, who knows. I always cringe when a celeb decides to become a Christian and then Christian media starts lionizing them. Give it a few years to see if they’ve matured in the faith etc. Christians place way too high a value on Christian celebrity as well. This thing with Kanye doesn’t surprise me at all. We should pray for him but I don’t think it deserves a million thought pieces.

They don’t grow and mature. It’s one of the difficult things about living only in the world of Christians you become uneducated and irrelevant in this world we have to be part of. Living under a rock gives you no 55:08 understanding of our society is just turn off and people think you are part of a cult. I’ve listened to my non practicing Christian talk and they describe Christians out of touch with society as being part of a cult. Jesus talked about relevant world topics and people.

The Bible doesn't mention 'bi polar' disorder. It just says there are some wicked people who are so wicked they loose their minds. God gives them over to a depraved mind. If mental health diagnosis existed, God would have spoken about them.

I read a lot of the comments on the episode addressed, and I honestly don’t think people were being or trying to be unloving. I think they were just voicing feedback and disagreement and passionately trying to defend their reasons. Isn’t that what Relatable is about? Isn’t that the kind of audience this draws? The “I will not stand idly by” type of gals? I think there are some legitimate reasons to maybe take a step back, think and talk about it. We are all here to sharpen iron with iron and I don’t think people should be shamed for or admonished for that.. a lot of people even specifically stated , “I’m saying this with a loving tone”. Just some honest thoughts. I think we all deserve the chance to be honest. Or else what are we here for.

For one thing it's like I know they are actors playing roles..alot of it I feel is actually rape and unwilling..maybe I'm wrong but I don't think so. I really believe all of it should be taken off the internet because it serves no purpose that is useful also any child can watch the content which definitely should not be possible..I think it encourages rape..mistreatment of women and shouldn't be allowed

With the upcoming Month of May being a time to recognize the Mental Illness within our country I think that Kanye West fits into the Mentally unhealthy category sadly. I thought he was diagnosed as Bipolar? If that is correct he could have lots of Delusions of Grandeur and a host of other delusions if he is not taking medication for it. I pray that he would get healthy and that he would one day be able to return to Jesus who is heartbroken by what he is seeing in Kanye's heart right now. Now, to the Moms or ladies who are upset with the negative that is being accurately assessed and observed about Taylor, try to imagine if she were your daughter or niece. If that were my daughter on that stage or singing "some" of her music I can only hope that I would be proud, yes, of her talents and hard work but heartbroken and scared out of my mind! She is 100% on that cloud of deception and lies about who she is and what and who she is actually influencing on her HUGE platform - Is it just entertainment? I don't think so but I pray for Taylor Swift too who claimed to be a Christian just a few years ago? Satan I hate you! Jesus is King so you need to RUN!! Remember to pray and help if you can to promote the need for Mental Health Illness awareness and treatment centers!! All throughout the Month of May 2024! Blessings - thanks for reading.
