Luther's views along with medieval antisemitism formed a large part of Hitler's world view which led to the Holocaust.

Exactly ,Luther theology anti sémitisme , had contributed to uge amounts of suffering and persecutions , massacres of innocent Jewish people. Pogroms, massacres of whole villages of Jews. Luther was and is not a Christian moral reference, he violated Christ teachings in the sermon on the Mount . It is a shame that theologians and pastors find excuses for Luther . Especially if one have a high responsibility in Christian teachings ….

Antisemitism is not a "Yes and No" matter. If there's any measure of "yes" then "yes" is the answer. We're not talking about someone who was antisemitic and repented. He became increasingly antisemitic in time and his writings were severely consequential for the Jewish people. The answer is "Yes."

Each show addresses a question that is answered seeped in biblical TRUTH and lovingly addresses those "gray" areas. I am sharing these " TRUTH talks" to those God has placed in my sphere. I love Luther. I used to defend him on this point, but now I just let the text speak for itself. Instead of interpreting Luther's motive in light of the age in which he lived, instead interpret the things Luther said in light of the history of Antisemitism. Nothing Luther suggests be done to the Jews was novel, and it had already happened to the Jews time and time again throughout the Middle Ages. He said to harm the Jews, burn their synagogues, burn their holy books, to allow them to teach only at the risk of life and limb, and do not allow them safe passage on the roads between towns. He said it. He printed it. It's Antisemitic. Again, I love Luther, but he fueled a fire that had been long-burning before he came along and likewise continued to burn well after he was dead. To be fair, Luther is the greatest theologian who ever lived (in my opinion), but he was just like everyone else in the Medieval period, he was Antisemitic. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, and don't cut your nose off to spite your face.

@@montyhall-vs3ul If you think I am excusing him, you either need to reread what I wrote, or I need to communicate my point better. There's no excuse for his ideas about the Jews, but my point is not to discount his valuable contribution to Protestant theology because he was so inexcusably wrong about his anti-Semitism. Like all humans, he is neither entirely evil nor entirely good.

@@robertparsons313 That is absurd to equate pointing out the fact that the overwhelming majority of Jews are secular, unsaved and morally left wing with supporting Nazism. Most of them are not saved by God’s grace. Half don’t even believe in God (which simply meant they hate God.) Part of sharing the Gospel is sharing the truth. “God’s chosen” are God’s elect. Galatians 2:21 even says if righteousness could be attained by works then Christ died for nothing.

Christianity started anti-semitsim, but Luther was the worst! Hitler loved his work and said…”In defending myself against the Jews, I am acting for the Lord. The difference between the church and me is that I am finishing the job." Amazing how one will make excuses for sin. How about Ezekiel 18:24? Hatred for Jews was in Luther’s heart, which go against his own Christ’s teaching. It’s irrelevant that Luther was old or sick. Even if he would’ve lost his mind, which he didn’t. “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man.” Matthew 15:18 NKJV

Believers in Christ are God’s chosen people - not the Jewish race. What does the scripture say??? See Galatians 3:…… v9 “So then those who are of faith (FAITH IN CHRIST IS IMPLIED) are blessed with Abraham, the believer”……. 16 “Now the promises (COVENANT PROMISES) were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does NOT say, “And to seeds,” (NOT Israel - the race!!) as referring to many, but rather to ONE, “And to your seed,” that is, Christ” (again, the seed is NOT Israel - the race)…………………. V22 so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those WHO BELIEVE (one must put their faith in Christ)…..v26 “For you are all sons of God THROUGH FAITH in Christ Jesus” (being Jewish has NOTHING to do with being a child of God - in fact even Abraham was saved as a gentile.)……V29 “and if you belong to Christ (you must to belong to Christ - the Jewish race for the most part have rejected Christ John 1:11), then you are Abraham’s descendants (not by being Jewish), heirs according to promise…………….Also, do people ever consider how the Jewish race is not even pure themselves? They married outside their race for 3000 years (in Babylon and Persia for example), hardly any Jewish person is 100% anyway (I just throw that in to show the absurdity of making the Jewish race God’s chosen people - what percent Jewish??? :P)

Father Martin Luther was once an Augustinian friar, right? Well, because never in Catholic history, has a catholic priest insulted so coarsely people, and has been called a "reformer" after that. Not sure what you (comment reader) will do next, but I'm surely gonna pass on this attempt to "clean up" the historic memory of this "reformer" lad.

It’s funny every video I’ve seen about this topic is so stupid. Everyone always tries to make less of the situation by saying “yes he was, but yOu hAvE tO loOk aT tHe cOntExt and CulTuRe” They just want to keep looking at Luther like some sort of hero. Sure he reformed the church but that doesn’t change the fact that he was a bad person if you can’t treat jews like your brothers you’re not saved! Why do you spend time defending luther? I’m sorry if this is offensive but we as christians need to stop looking for ways to make luther the good guy. In fact all luther did was make a new religion he didn’t change the fact that everything the catholic roman church wants christians are still blindly following. Christianity still celebrates catholic roman made up holidays and everything for example Christmas never was the birthday of Jesus but in fact came from idolatry way before him and you’re welcome to do research on it. The holy day of the Lord which is Saturday is now ignored and replaced with Sunday which by the way even the Catholic Church has admitted to changing it and there is no where in the Bible saying God nor Jesus changed it. Both Christians and Jews blame each other for being wrong but we don’t realize none of us are right. In the end of the book of Revelations it says those who will be saved are those who kept his commandments and had the testimony of Jesus Christ. That means it doesn’t matter what religion you’re part of it all comes down to how you lived.

A true Cristian can not be against Israel! The Word of God says: "For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy." Romans 11:25-31
