I have noticed that alot of these washers, when using the eco setting, take hours. Would this be because the heater isn't running at full power? I am from the US where front loader, and washers that heat the water used, aren't common.

its because the water get heated up only to around 40 degrees. to reach the same cleaning result of a regular 60 degrees wash, the time needs to be extended. its calculated with the sinnersche circle, this is the calculation of mecanical action, time, heat and chemistry (detergent). if u change one of this, the others needs to be extended to reach the same result.
