The honesty in this video is admirable. I think you’re being a little hard on yourself about how the LZ series has gone, but I also understand that being hard on yourself is one of your strengths, and a huge reason that you’ve achieved so much and continue to push yourself to achieve more. You can rest assured that I’m a loyal follower and appreciate the attention to detail and uncompromising dedication you have to the pursuit of functional excellence. I’m very excited about all of the big changes you have coming like the bank building, and the awesome projects you’ve mentioned that are on the horizon. I’m buckled up and ready to ride along with the OG crew, it’s going to be an awesome adventure for years and years to come.

I understand wanting to please the new audience & it's super easy to ignore the "haters", not take the feedback provided from them & ultimately alienate them; but I think your ability to question what is valuable feedback & isn't will lead you down the right path. If you feel something needs to change you should continue to experiment & not be scared of change because your style & uniqueness will shine through. Completely respect your assessment of the LZ project....but I personally believe you and team have executed at an incredible level. I have enjoyed every second, of every video of this series, and I HATE HGTV type television and media. I sincerely hope you continue to make this kind of content, as its novel and invaluable. Your "quirkiness" is part of what makes the show and series so good, and embracing that and sharing the journey only makes you more human and likable. Yes, you could have told your story better, but please don't mess with the original recipe just to appeal to a new audience. Your style and brand, is something people will quickly learn to love, and support.

Framing these projects as what they are, a test site for new products, processes, and ambitions, might help align expectations and reduce the amount you have to explain yourself. Once people understand these help advance the business by discovering and trying new items, being your own customer, and obviously marketing the products with videos, they'll have a useful context for the "why" behind each decision. Absolutely don't worry about the videos being entertainment. People who watch these videos want to see considered, quality work come together and the planning that goes into it. I even actively don't like videos that are too focused on being amusing instead of delivering interesting and valuable information.

I don't think this channel will ever be broad-reaching, and I say that in the most positive way. Most people simply are not interested in the details, the exploration, trial and error process, and discovery of excellence. They would rather get instant dopamine gratification. The OG crowd may differ in taste, but our mindset and end game are the same. Being opinionated also means you're going to get haters. Serious haters who have nothing going for them in their lives so they seek purpose by destroying others. If they hate you, you're doing something right, not pandering, and sticking to your principles. Trust me, I won't get into it, but I know this better than most.

I think we've been able to get the price within a few dollars to cover transit costs. It sells for about $30 US in the UK (22.95 pounds). I think we are going to be something like $34 a gallon. There is some improvement to the product coming, so I'm actually expecting the per use price to come down substantially from the $34 a gallon!

@@ObsessedGaragethat is a great price the only price we can get it at in the states is 50-60$ so this is great price! Going to sell a bunch. I’m happy to hear they will be improving an already stellar product

At first, I was watching the LZ build videos pretty consistently, but then I started falling behind. I don't always have time to watch an hour-long video every day or two. However, last week, I was off work sick and had the opportunity to get caught up on the videos, and I am absolutely loving the series. I am able to listen to podcasts while I work. I was wondering why I wasn't just playing the videos while working, and the truth is I like WATCHING your videos. I am not scrolling on my phone with your build videos in the background. Your LZ build videos are capturing my full attention, which is rare in this day and age. There is not much that captures 100% of my attention. Mike is great on camera. He did a great job while Matt was away. Keep up the great work, cannot wait to see what is next.

A lot of the car youtubers make a video after they finish a build series thats in a timelapse format. The "building a X in 20 minutes" or whatever videos. Sometimes theyre 15 minutes and sometimes theyre an hour but they seem to get really good views compared to the entire series. And I expect it increases views on the other videos from the series too. You should definitely try something like that when you're done.

Definitely too hard on yourself but definitely something you're good at in order to be able to tune and adapt yourself. I say this is a progression of your channel and its following. The content you create and work you do isn't for everyone and that it what makes it and you stand out in a hugely positive manner. You can't please everyone, And they can watch other stuff if they wish but you'll also be gaining a whole new audience that will love having found you here. You keep being you 👊🏻

Matt, apparently, I am a bit more obsessed about tire cleaning and that section of tire bulge down by the ground. I use 4 pieces of 2x10 that I place in front of the tires, tucked back so that they are away from the outside of the tread edge. Park up on them prior to washing, and you can easily access the bottom edge of the tire that is usually squished towards the ground and not easily cleanable. Maybe that is a new product idea, "Squish Blocks"? "Bulge Blocks"? No need for royalties, my gift to you for the entertainment value you provide.

I used to do that too. Funny... I'd forgotten about that. I think I stopped doing it as I developed my tire prep and dressing process. Since I clean them regularly, that missed spot will get taken care of next week. My tires never get super dirty, so I'm able to miss spots and not have it look dirty.

I have the same obsessed, perfectionist personality. My wife has the opposite personality. She tried to talk me out of it for years, but finally realized that I get a sense of purpose and satisfaction out of it. I call it "tweaking" and when I'm in that mode it's best to just let me do my thing!

I'm in the same boat as you with the wife. When her tribe flies in to visit, which is often, I rent a car for when we are running around. Every time, one of them scratch my black car when I ask them not to. I think they all have ADD or don't care when I ask them to respect my belongings. I literally get panic attacks when I know they are coming. I can't even set up my high end HIFI system for fear they might scratch my expensive speakers. Most people live like animals and have zero pride of ownership. My brain is always happy when things are clean, uncluttered and organized. I've just learned to pick up after the wife since trying to reason with her is beating a dead horse and it's just easier if I do it.

Do you have recommendations for getting swirls out of black paint? Ive followed "tutorials" while detailing my car. Did clay and buff and polish, but the sun hits it and it looks like Starry Night. I know i caused the swirls, but I cant get them out

Black is tough and generally unforgiving. Your finished step when polishing is the toughest to execute. Finding the exact right combo take a lot of trial and error. My go to would be Sonax Perfect Finish on a Yellow pad.

@@redgtr Quality products make a big difference. Especially your polish removal towels. You can do just as much damage during the final step, negating all of your work. @@redgtr You'll get there. I've seen some monkeys slinging poo, that get good results. Perfect Finish, clean finishing pads and the removal towels sold on the OG site eliminates the guesswork. Stay away from the auto parts store. Are you using a random orbital polisher? You can't get good results using the wrong tools.
