this is a old engine out of a washing machine, in this video you can see that these motors can run on 220volts AC, and on 12volts DC.
from the back of my motor there are a whole lot of cables coming to the front. if you watch my video somewhere around 50 seconds you will see a bunch of cables.
almost each cable has its own color and it's own number. the numbers are on the big white connector on the side of the engine
1= yellow
2= nothing, no cable
3= red
4= red
5= green
6= black
7= black
8= blue
9= white
10= brown
number 1 and 6 go together, i just twisted and taped them together.
number 2, no cable so leave it just the way it is.
number 3 and 4 are the tachometer, i think that's what the washingmachine uses to control the rpm of the motor.
number 5 and 8 are for AC it doesn't matter how you wire them, with AC there is no + or -, of better said, there is a + and a - but they change 50 times in a second, so it doesn't matter how you plug in your plug in the wall soccet, but if you use DC then it's an whole other story, then you have a + and - then you can control the direction of the motor, it will turn left or right, just swap the cables and it will run in the opposite way.
number 7 and 9, it's the same story as 1 and 6
number 10 is not used, i just cut it of except for 1 inch or so.
that's how it works for me.
if it works and you turn the power on, it will run at full speed, and that is really fast. i used an old accelerator/foot pedal from an old quiltmachine, works really well.
good luck wireing your motor, if you have any questions, just ask, i will try to answer them.
