I've been sitting on this footage in order to add to a future return to Kalama Falls, but I decided I'm likely never to run it. I have a nagging low back problem that acts up even when I land a little too flat on Canyon Creek's drops. Thus, leaving the waterfall game to the young bucks now.
On this day, there were a couple hazards. The outflow, in case someone was to swim, had a few pieces of wood littered on both banks. If a swim was to occur, it was likely they wouldn't be able to self rescue until the river curves to the right. Also, as seen in the video, there was an undercut that was in play. The logs in the screenshot I don't think would have posed much of problem. I'm not sure, but I think it's fairly shallow there.
