I find it crazy how there are so many fellow billionaires on this post advising Ms Johnson how she should have invested her money. You think she messed up for selling BET yet she now employs more African Americans than she did at BET. What is WRONG with people. Watch, learn and do it your way or her way just do something and stop complaining about people who have made a real difference in this world by going against stupid stereotypes and statistics!

The thing is BET was a medium by which OUR voice was heard and recognized!! Did they really need the money?! On BET we had the nightly news coverage by black people, we had TEEN SUMMIT, which portray positive black youth and we also had TAVIS SMILEY show and others, that essentially was removed when VIACOM bought the station! Okay?!! The fact is, we have no real voice any more in this country!! We rely on news corporations such FOX, NBC, CBS and others to feed us news bits that essentially tell our story the way THEY want you to see it! That was what I personally was upset about! Not to mention earlier that year when Bob Johnson sold BET, he was on C-SPAN basically bragging about the fact that he was proud to have BET and that voice for the black community! I remember it well! Now, he has sold the company, his wife divorced him and took half of the money, and now she has bought a resort hiring a few black people!! WOW! We still don't have a medium by which we can accurately get our story told, but having yet again, to rely up these other stations for the misinformation!! This is what Bill Cosby was so desperately trying to do, in an attempt to purchase NBC, because he knew it represents real power!! A resort is nice, but I mean, really?!!! We gotta do better than that y'all!! As they say, you can't take it with you!!

Majority of blacks are not job creators in this country, they are looking for a job or unemployed or going to get a degree and work for someone else. The wealthiest individuals on planet earth are business owners nobody can fire them.

Within the first minute I lost it a bit. I am not even mad they took they money because it is about business, make your wealth. However where is the creation of serious economic infrastructure. Hospitality and entertainment is fine but we have our footprint here already. Where is our strengthening of our banks, food, distribution, and health centers. She mentioned banks. We only have about 21 black owned banks/credit unions and most are in GA and AL.

Open schools then. You and your friends have all the money. Invest in schools, hire the right teachers, and create the curriculum you desire. I keep hearing the same statement from these wealthy individuals about vo-tech classes. Why don't they use their assets to change it.

But have you ever dealt with Africans in terms of commerce? The level of open corruption (particularly in Nigeria & Ghana) makes US payola, mafia, and any governmental corruption we've ever experienced in the States look like Romper Room. With all due respect I believe Mrs Johnson (and any other of us Americans) would be chewed up and spit out like yesterday's potted meat trying to do business there...with the exception to football/soccer, that is.

This lady has made the worst invest decisions that I could think of for a person with such wealth. Her estimated wealth at the beginning of the sale of BET was 1.5 billion and now her wealth is estimated at 400 million according to Forbes magazines. Why is she buying WNBA teams and hotels in small markets like Tampa??If she was smart she would have invested her dollars in Africa which is rapidly growing economically and the returns are high for investors and bought an EPL Soccer club. Crazy!
