Blackie has such a unique voice. One of the few metal singers who could've done any genre of music and been great. I think he had a voice that would've gained mass appeal but WASP was so vulgar they couldn't break into mainstream. There was a time when even metal mags considered them too raunchy to cover and merchandise outlets often didn't offer their stuff. Which was a shame. In WASP's debut album they already sounded like established vets.

We (old metalheads) must face it: the majority of heavy rockers are just fading away. From the end of the '60s to the middle of the '70s, the bands with the N.W.O.B.H. M. (1979 to 1985)movement are disappearing fast. Few of the bands remain active, but some of the members of those bands are at the end of their careers. Sad but true.

They had some of the visual cues but they actually rocked. Same with ratt is ways.. they got lumped in and had some looks in common but they rocked.
