For about 3 years now I have known about these and wanted to film them on route. A few weeks ago Trashman242 and I went out in search of them but did not succeed. We did however find the other unique truck this yard has though. You'll see it from Trashman242 some time this weekend as well. Anyway, the driver of the truck we did find told us the general area that this truck runs, so we took off in search of it. Never ended up finding it so we planned another trip on the 6th where we followed it to its route. Turns out we were only a few hundred feet from its route before we turned onto the freeway on-ramp to give up our search.. We were so close! Its a little frustrating, but with a bit of persistence and a better plan, we found it the second time around, and here it is! Seen here on an early Friday morning collecting the trash in a little hilly part of Simi Valley just off Santa Susana Pass Road. These trucks collect all three streams. Trash first, then they dump, collect either recycling or greenwaste next, dump and then come back for the last stream of waste.
This little truck is pretty quiet at idle but has a neat little sound when operating and accelerating. And for a foreign cab style, it still looks pretty neat IMO. Fits nicely with the body, and you have to love that brand new paint job they gave it! Even still has the GI Rubbish stripes on it since this yard (formerly GI Rubbish) has its own paint booth. I still get a little laugh at how part of the chain is painted yellow too :D. They keep their trucks looking nice, but also running very well which is hard to come by with Waste Management it seems. Very cool yard with some very nice, talented drivers. Big shout out to them for all being very cooperative.
Hope you all enjoy this one, because it has proven to be a tough one to find, but well worth it for me.
