just saw extremly bright red, green, blue and purple aurora in germany just a few weeks ago on the night of september 24th. to 25th. Was crying a lot from the beauty. Lucky i could take so many pictures.

@@T_bone0106 unmöglich? Bitte was? Wir sind kurz vorm Sonnenmaximum haha. Aurora derzeit mindestens alle 2 Wochen wenn man drauf achtet und wie ich Aurora Chaser ist :) Selbst komm ich aus nord NRW letzte nacht erst wieder fotografiert (mein profilbild ist vom 24-25 sept) Darf ich fragen wie du darauf kommst das es unmöglich sei? Die magnetormeter schlagen derzeit alle paar Tage massiv aus, der BZ steht oft weit südlich, das Interplanetare Magnetfeld zeigt oft über 20 nT an und selbst C klasse Flares sind stark genug um dicke Auroras auszulösen :D

@@meloney entschuldige bitte meinen Fehler, ich bin noch Anfänger was das angeht und hatte auf die komplett falschen Daten geachtet. Ich wusste nicht, dass wir so nah am Solaren Maximum sind. Tut mir leid :)

@@T_bone0106 alles gut! Die Website "Space Weather Live" eignet sich sehr gut zum Daten verfolgen (Solar und Aurora Aktivität, inklusive Flares, Coronale Massenauswürfe, Sonnenbilder und Geomagnetische Stürme! Außerdem gibs immer Warnungen für Aurora Sichtbarkeiten!

@@RareEpicness it's just another plane, this kind of videos are done by stacking multiple long exposure pictures and then creating a video. A shooting star lasts for about half a secoond, so if you happen to frame one of them, they would show up in just one frame as a line in the sky.

Where were they flying over? I realize it had to be New Zealand or Australia Tasmania South Africa etc, but does anyone know? I guess it doesn't matter too much. It's so beautiful. I am very obsessed with the Aurora. I'm also obsessed with the polar regions. I want to visit Antarctica. I want to visit the Arctic Circle also.

Just as beautiful as the northern lights! I recently saw the northern lights and it was incredible. People say thr northern lights is better than the southern lights but it's mot true. Both are awesome!

I'm guessing that they sped up the video 2-5 times faster and was film with a special filter for cameras.

The plane did not fly through the lights. Those lights are outside of the Earth's atmosphere where planes do not fly.

Because newer plane had higher fuel efficiency, they decide to use North/South pole as shortcut. I'm sure NASA will warn them if it get too dangerous.

It happens at both poles. It's called "Aurora Borealis" in the North, and "Aurora Australis" in the south.
