I've had mine for just over a year now. I have made two Xmas lunches now - Turkey, chicken, brisket burgers, corn and veggies, this is a great grill. I use the smoker and char griller more than the gas, for any BBQing I do and they are excellent. The Oklahoma Joe's cover isn't available here yet in the South Island of NZ, apparently, which is a bit disappointing, so have to wheel it in and out of my garage which isn't a big issue. I do agree that the original paint coating peels off quickly when the smoker or the char griller gets too hot, but just get a can of high-heat black matt spray paint and respray, looks like new again and I've only had to redo the same place once. Love my Longhorn, best BBQ I have purchased so far.

Sir, thank for this outstanding review. I was on the fence about buying it after my Char-Broil Grill caught fire while I was grilling. It gave me an excuse to upgrade to a better one. I was actually expecting a slam video lol. Was presently surprised.. I've had mine over a year and she don't know what a cover looks like. It'll do anything I want to throw at it! FYI, for the flare-up due to firebox on brisket. Get a cookie sheet that will fit flat against that inlet wall to divert the heat/flame toward the charcoal bed and spread the heat more evenly. Great video and my igniter NEVER worked.

I got this for Father’s Day. Popped a few about 300 grams of charcoal in the fire box and the paint smoked and cracked right off. Only had it two weeks and it’s already going rusty even though I’ve seasoned the crap out of it. And it cost 1600 from Hervey Norman

Hey there! So I just bought this grill/smoker yesterday and I was looking at all the reviews and the only thing I’m worried about is the rust that a lot of people complain about, is there anything that you can recommend that you did with yours to make it last a long time without it rusting?
@thevetdad6383

What sucks is buying a natural gas Napoleon Prestige PRO 825 for north of $5000.00 and finding out after you move you can't get a LPG conversion kit. (Grill is 5 years old) I rather pay $600 for a Oklahoma Joe and get 5-8 years use out of it then have a $5k paperweight. No, Napoleon does not make a kit. But they DO sale a LPG version. So, needless to say, I'll never buy another Napoleon. Heck, I'm thinking of going back to Weber. I was looking at one of these today and liked it (how I found your video). Thanks for the honest review

Recently purchased this combo grill and I'm having one major issue I can't see to fix. There's little to no smoke flavor. I've done ribs and a tri tip - both came out great just no smoky compliment. However, when I use my Webber charcoal grill I get great smoke flavors. Where am I going wrong? Any help would be appreciated
@thevetdad6383
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Stanley, that seems super weird to me. I've done ribs and brisket and they both had great flavor and a big smoke ring. I don't know how I could offer any advice without knowing any details if how you did it, like what type of wood, how long, and now you managed your air flow. I did a video back in May on how I smoked a brisket on the longhorn so maybe that will help. At least they still tasted good!
@stanleyfloyd9768
3 жыл бұрын
Thx for the quick response. I typically use the 321 method for ribs, hickory chunks (home depot), temp around 270, water pan, tuning plate, intake open half, stack open full, I don't spritz (keep chamber closed). Smoke is mostly light and bluish (4 chunks or so) using kingsford charcoal. I previously owned a cheap offset (walmart) and had the same issue, so I'm thinking operator error in some way or the home depot wood chunks. Driving me crazy😲
@thevetdad6383
3 жыл бұрын
@@stanleyfloyd9768 just a few things I think I would recommend. 270 strikes me as a bit high. I usually only smoke between 225-250. Also, I don't typically rely on the temp that the grill says. I put a Webber style temperature sensor on the grate farthest away from the heat source. I also would recommend using only hardwood lump charcoal. I hope maybe some of that will help!
