The Captain either took the EPIRB off the boat or he had a personal locator beacon that he activated. Either way, that's what the pilots homed in on to find him. Even if you never go to the ocean, if you plan in being in the wilderness you can also have a PLB of your own. While they can be pricey it's well worth it if you spend a lot of time in the wilderness. Even if it's just a one time adventure, you can rent a PLB just for your trip.

I'm sorry but this is FUNNY- Captain Dave took one last look at his sinking ship then got into his cooler and said it's MILLER TIME! The predicaments humans get into are sometimes so bad you have to laugh. Bless the coast guard and thank the Lord above for miracles big and small!

What kind of cooler is that?????? And how do I get one?
@AFloridaSon

If that cooler washes up to my house, I'm keeping it. Although I'm 5 miles inland, so if it washes up to my house, I'll probably have bigger problems than needing a good cooler. 😅

How did he get out in the sea?? Why weren't there safe shelters for residents? this shows Desantis incompetence and will hurt Trump during the election
@ttee6990

There were places not close to the sea that didn’t predict flooding. A natural disaster doesn’t exactly tell you every single place it’s gonna attack. Predictions of humans are limited. We’re basing predictions based on science and knowledge we have at the time. We’re not always privy to what will ultimately happen

Did you even listen to the video? He was on his boat, and Governor DeSantis did an amazing job during two hurricanes. It's the cities responsibility to provide places of shelter and there were plenty available.

Just like Texas, people in Florida should feel ashamed to be emptying the coffers of FEMA while people smart enough not to live in a disaster area are lucky to get funds.

For some reason you think FEMA only responds to hurricane victims! They've spent most of their funds supporting YOUR new democrat voters that recently sneaked across the border! And most people in Texas don't live on the coast, so they're not affected by hurricanes! So, your hate is misdirected!

Only the poor people who are already on the government payroll empty coffers whether it be in Florida or elsewhere. You sound angry. Anyway, enjoying the day here at the beach in Florida. Sunny and 80 degrees

Mudslides, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, monsoons, hurricanes, tornadoes, forest fires, typhoons, blizzards, etc. Where do you want people to live? Maybe everyone can be your neighbor. Crowd you right in. There are natural disasters all over the world. Some people just don't think before speaking.
