You would have a much more enjoyable experience running Jellyfin as a docker instead of casting. That’s what I use for my projection setup. You’ll likely need change your folder setup to properly tag the correct meta data when first getting started, but it’s totally worth it in the long run. You’ll get a simple Netflix style interface that’s easy to navigate. Edit: Grammar

Are your computer’s Ethernet and your switch 1Gbps or 2.5 or 10? And is the NAS hooked up on the 2.5Gbps or 10Gbps port?

They are going hard on reviewers with this, lol. I'm so glad you finally got a NAS! I do not get why Ugreen needs to do a Kickstarter, though. I have a few Synology's and love them. They have a Phota app that backs up your photos from your phone, which is awesome. I take a picture, and I have access on my PC a minute later. I hope their software is good because that will make or break them. I do love how they included a 10G NIC. I upgraded my Synology to 10G and 32GB RAM. I have about 150TB, lol.

I think they do the kickstarter to see how the market responds. I have my doubts on the software side, from what I have seen it will need a lot of work. At least UG has opened the door for 3rd party os's 👍

No one has ever said that. If you are willing to put forth the time and effort it takes to build a PC, learn how to rip 1:1 copies of your disks, and learn PLEX, Kodi etc, then it’s absolutely a viable option. But to some, time is money, and they are willing to pay for convenience, ease of use and reliability.

Great Video Youthman!! I love Ugreen chargers and cables but it does seem like a different product line. NASes are storing important data for most people, I would be a bit nervous that they got the software right. It does seem like they have done a good job creating a good UI. Hopfully they support/update the NASync for the long term.

Great! I bought this NAS from Kickstarter. It mentioned it uses Seagate compatible drives! Really! I bought 4 Exos (Seagate) drives , 16tb, on sale on Amazon. Of course when the NAS came, way later than the drives the drives blinked in error. Of course the drives of Seagate are only the Ironwolf type. Now what do I do since the drives are more than 3 months old!!!!! You didn't even mention the drive compatible issue. So disappointed and a waste of money especially for the NAS and the 4 16tb Exos drives!!!!!!

Maybe intimidated isn’t the correct word. I´ve been a user of a NAS for the past 15 or more years. Only in recent years been using it to stream via Plex and Shield Pro. It´s a new world for You Michael, and a really nice one at that ;-) Couldn´t live without it. Remember a NAS is only a single unit and it too can fail.
