I have 508, 2019 and I had a problem with the electric parking break yesterday. The break didn't want to release no mather what I tried. Then my friend and I removed the smal motor for the handbreak of the wheel, and we found the smal gear inside that was broken. The gears are all plastic except that one, which is metal, but that one was broken. That gear is so small, that it looks like you are fixing a toy of some sort. That thing will breake after 3-5 years I'm sure. But yeah, the car is great in general, I would never step away from buying the new Peugeot line. My friend work as a mechanic, and almost every new car has the similar issues, it's just so many smal things that is really a miracle when everything works :) Thanks for this review, this is a great video!

Yep, for me, was the last Peugeot I ever buy. Mine is 2018. Nice, beautiful...and stressful. I am very disappointed by things going to break and almost unable to be repaired… Standing noise in the audio system on driver's side, CB is broken and changed, the passenger door window cleaning blade is very easily broken from tiny clips, no way to be repaired, all must be taken down, including the glass... I buy it for the look, but is a waste of money... And the BMW engines, especially 1.6l THP... avoid them completely, are crap. Read on the MINI forums how many problems have, mine is in the middle...

Weird that you don't even mention the massive issue with the 1.2 pure tech engines where the belt deteriorates and travels around the engine and the engine drinks oil before it dies completely. The new Chevy Trax is very popular in the US, and it uses a version of the same PSA 1.2 engine that you are referring to. Chevy recommends that the 2 "wet" belts be changed at 150K, but I have serious doubts that the engine will survive that long. By all accounts, it's a decent vehicle for a very good price, but it is a shame that Chevrolet did not spend a few extra dollars to give the engine a decent timing chain and oil pump chain. Unlike the Japanese, American auto companies try to maximize short term profits at the expense of retaining repeat customers.

Just looking at youtube for faults on 3008 as my 2017 plate has begun to misbehave. A year ago the screen with speedo went blank and needed to switch off ignition and restart, at random times the screen will change to French and kilometers. Having spent about an hour last year to update the software and sat-nav the problems went away. Last week after having had NO problems the car started to "judder" the brake warning light came on the engine switched it self off and gave a message of brake fault. Taken in to a garage minor faults were recorded #1 adBlue fault... this had been topped up a week ago. I have been warned about French cars but after a test drive I loved the tech and the drive and still do. Hopping all my problems have gone away after the fault reset as It's been running great this week but I don't think I will be buying another French car. P,S a three tear warranty is not worth a penny at Peugeot dealer.

I own a 3008 GTline (2019) and I had to replace the AdBlue tank. I suffered chaotic issues with it varying from wrong level indication to engine failure light and AdBlue system failure light. But the tank has been replaced for free as my vehicle is still on factory guarantee service. Next issue is air conditioning system. Out of the blue it fails periodically. This happens when it is cold (0°C and below). The warming function goes bust and the system air flow internal deflectors do not function. The cure - you warm up the engine for several minutes, turn the engine off and wait for a minute. Next engine start revives the conditioning system. You cannot drive without it in winter because there is ice buildup on the windshield that makes you effectively blind. The third issue is a key fob sensitivity to cold. At freezing temperatures it just stops functioning entirely. You have to warm it up to return functionality. Or carry it close to your body to keep it cozy and warm :)

Heh, it all depends on your country regulations but welp, cars officially sold in Russia have no AdBlue at all, and owners of imported cars usually drive till they got AdBlue issue and just remove AdBlue system entirely and then reprogram engine to run without one. As for AT6 it is kind of interesting since we have two sets of recommendation. One from Peugeot - that states that this box is maintenance-free and filled with ATF for entire lifetime. And then there is recommendation from Aisin/Toyota (actual manufacturer of this gearbox) that states that you have to replace oil at certain milage. But then, there is no way to replace filter and 100% of ATF on this box without disassembly - so, ppl here do partial ATF replacement at every ~40-60k km. Also country-specific is petrol engine. Basically we only have 1,6 THP Prince engine as the only option and this engine is prone to all sort of issues... unless you babysit it. That is usually not the case.

Pretty much all Peugeots have numerous faults. As for adbkue I just forced them to buy back my Peugeot Traveller after winning a judgement with the ombudsman, then telling them go to court or repay the full price I paid for the car. They bought it back, tells you all you need to know. Also their engine bay fuse boxes many of them are faulty and require replacing. Which often takes the alternator with it. Oh and the battery management system that tends to fail too... I could go on but buy a Peugeot at your peril, what is infinitely worse is customer service lie to your face, a fact I can prove with freedom of information requests. Yeah save yourself the trouble Peugeots are fault riddled nightmares.
