I don't own a car. My cb750 gets me everywhere I need to go and it does take some getting used to. But the parking options, the time I shave off my commute, the gas I save, and just the fun I have makes me never look back. Always carry a little kit of tools you might need in a pinch as well as a first aid kit in your bag or storage if you have any. And as far as parts, I can almost always find whatever I need from my local boneyard or retro bike shop and maintenance is manageable.

I was driving our Sienna minivan and realized I didn’t need to transport my kids to school so why was I driving a bus for one person? So I decided to get into motorcycles as a cheap commute. FastLaneD I’m part of a motorcycle network called twisted road. I rented the GSXR and someone crashed it. Like Steve Austin, we can rebuild it so the GSXR is at my mechanic with the promise of being better, faster and completely unique. Hence I bought the Boulevard since. When I get the GSXR back I plan to balance the riding. I think the GSXR is better going to work more while I’m looking forward to the boulevard being for weekend rides

I think it just depends on the job really. I'm a lineman/electrician, company provides vehicle and tools whenever I get to headquarters. I ride the bike to work with my gear over my work cloths, zip it off and put it in the locker, boom bop bam done. So idk depends on your circumstance. Even my last job as a journeyman electrician, I used to take my van to and from work everyday (before I had a motorcycle), but there were a few guys that would leave their work vans at work and drive and pick it up every morning. Their tools would already be in the van, so that's another scenario. Doesn't really matter how sweaty you are when you arrive to work, you're going to be sweating within the first 10 minutes of loading material and stuff into your van before you head off to the job site, so that doesn't matter one bit lol. Definitely depends on the person and job, for me it works. Wouldn't do it any other way. For really cold days and rainy days, I just take my truck... Majority of the time it's me and my bike.

I do commute, I own a 2004 R1 it is my main form of transportation and bought it for both having fun on the weekends and commuting throughout the week . It’s been about 5 or 6 months and I am mixed about it, i would say that if you live within a 20-25 mile circumference of all basic necessities (Food, Gym , School, job, home ) then I would say it’s fine especially on a sport bike because you could get around anywhere with 15-20 minutes but say you do a lot of community over longer distances (like traveling 1hr to work or school) then Get a car. It also factors what area you live in, unfortunately I live in Tx, and weather here is more flip floppy it makes 6ix9ine, look not less of snitch

I used to have a 250cc cruiser and used it for commute and leisure rides like allll the time haha. Anyways if you discipline yourself and plan, it definitely works commuting daily. Unless you have alot of things to carry around then get some saddlebags or sidecases. Got saddlebags for my cruiser currently and loved em. Ok...valid points mayne...but despite the hazards, It's definitely worth it if you live here in Cali...in an area where traffic's bad (Fortunately, it's legal to split lanes here). I've rode in other states, and to me, it's definitely not worth commuting on a bike in my opinion, because splitting is illegal...might as well drive, and save the bike for the weekend. Anyways, my commute into the Bay Area took 2-2.5 hours in my car..each way. I hop on my GSXR...and I'm there in an hour, and home in 45mins. One drawback is that splitting requires concentration/anticipation. I'm fully focused 95% of the time each way...but I'm drained once I get to work/home. Another drawback is that you're putting your life on the line in order to save time. The number one rulie for me before I get on that bike to commute tho is...if I feel nervous before I gear up...I don't ride.

@Lyrethar

@@julianlopez5510 go with it just keep it in lowest mode, take it easy , take it slow. I've never been on a bike I just road around the neighborhood . Practicing stopping left right turns everything you would need to know to operate that bike on the street. I did that for about a month in half to 2 months before I even took it on the freeway. If you don't feel comfortable, I would ride around the neighborhood. That way it's no more than 25, 30 miles an hour. There's no rush to get on the roadway If you don't feel ready. Don't go on the highway interstate and whatnot. Just take your time and have fun man. Believe it or not invest in gear too. Having gear gives you a sense of security. It helps with your confidence. If you get a bike like that, this would be a bike u would have for life really there is no need for a liter bike on the street but that's just me. If I were to do it again I would never buy a ninja 650 unless it was used and I paid cash for it. If I were to do it I would go with a 600 class maybe a 750, because that's all u need
