I’m so happy for this reunion. First of all, it’s no body’s business about why they lost touch. What matters is they have the chance for a new beginning. I grew up without a father. My parents had sex one night. I found my father through a radio station in Mexicali where I was with my husband for business for a few days. The cleaning lady told me about the radio station that helps reunite people. I had one day left to come back home. Although we are Cuban, I knew that my father lived in Mexicali. He had a wife and two kids. I met them in person when I was 26. I am now 47. As we were driving up to his business he was walking out with another man but I knew which one was my father. He held me so tight just giving me kisses for about 10 minutes straight. My heart finally felt whole. He decided to explain how things happened with my mother and I let him talk. When he finished I said thank you to him and that what ever happened between them I didn’t care because he recognized that I was his daughter. I didn’t get to see him again but we spoke at least 4 days a week. He would send me kisses through the phone and told me he loved me. I am so thankful that I was able to meet him and talk to him. I only got 4 years to have him in my life because that’s when he passed away. My points to my story is to never judge others because you don’t know the circumstances. Most importantly, life is very short so if there is someone you want to reunite with, don’t waste time doing nothing. If your a child raised by one parent, or care giver and you wish you could reunite with someone, do it now. You try to have a relationship with that person no matter what the other party told you. Don’t live with doubt. Don’t think about the what if’s. God bless this family, God bless my family, God bless you all.

This is my story and first of all I am so glad I got to meet my father. Second of all they are slightly incorrect my mother DID give information to my father when she moved and they were in contact until I was 6 months old. My mother sent photos of me to my dad until they started being returned back to her. My father had been discharged from the military and moved leaving no forwarding address. My mom is an absolutely AMAZING woman who never badmouthed my dad and even offered to help me find him repeatedly over the years I always refused. I think it is pretty rude for people to be making assumptions and calling my mother names without knowing ANYTHING about my story.

Oh and for anyone still interested in this story. Jodie took a trip to New Jersey where her daddy and his family live. She made the plans to be there for his 60th birthday. She crocheted him a beautiful Afghan for his birthday. She met her Gramma and uncles and aunts and cousins and her older and younger brother. She was thrilled and had a wonderful trip. There are plans in the works to go up again this next Spring vacation and take his grandkids up so he can meet them.

The best for you to do is to get a DNA kit and hopefully someone related to your dad will come up as a match. This happened to me. I had a 1st cousin match to someone I did not know. I contacted her and going back and forth it turns out my 1 uncle told his brother and son a long time ago that he had a daughter somewhere but did not know how to locate her. When my cousin told me this, we knew right away she was his sister! We just met her this 30th of June and I told her afterwards it seemed like she always belonged and was always a part of the family. She had 2 other sisters but sadly my uncle passed away a while back so she will never be able to meet him. She just turned 60 and I know this was the best present she ever had. She and her brother talk on the person like every other day. I told her that he is making up for lost time. He also took the test to verify that she was his sister.

had to pause at 0:24..daddy was fiiiiiiine!! anyway, made me cry like a baby. I grew up without a father and now at 30 years old I've pretty much realize I will never have a relationship with him, but the little girl in me still longs for him to reach out to me even if it's just for me to turn him away lol. My husband has a son, he's now 18, from his previous marriage. He's told him how the first 2 years after his divorce it was getting harder and harder to keep up with his ex wife and his son, he had moved to a neighboring state and was coming traveling to see his son every weekend but for a month straight his ex would leave and his his son from him. He told me that many times the thought of just giving up and letting them be crossed his mind, this is when I realized that not all absent fathers are completely guilty , many mothers are at fault too. Thankfully my husband didn't give up, he didn't want to be like his father.

I wanna know what exactly went down between the mom and dad for her to not feel compelled to tell him that she's having his child, especially since it's his only girl. Like, over 30 years of no contact? That's madd serious! Anything could've happened health-wise to either one of them and then the daughter would've been lost at ever finding her father again.
