DDOS L7 attacks cannot be stopped with those 5 tips. Any kid have your server ip can shut down your entire loadbalancing and cloud, as the L7 requests follow the website continuesly, it will reach to your other servers in loadbalancing or cloud, probably your server provider will null route (blocking server IP) your entire loadbalanced servers or servers in cloud for 3 days or more and your business is gone. The only way to prevent ddos is to use cloudflare or voxility. However, these are also not working immediately, a lot of time cloudflare does not detect the attack until your server is completely down or null routed by server provider. Because such protections also use sensors and those sensors works like a grandfather. You may ask how those big hosting companies stay alive ? They pay 2.000 - 4.000 USD monthly to those ddos mitigation companies to have realtime continues mitigation, therefore their ips are not getting blocked by datacenters, money talks. Thats how.

Thank you for this information. Brother, I have just been ddos from a 5-year-old kid that lives in his mother's basement After pissing down his throat on Call of Duty on the Xbox Just wanted to know if there was any way to prevent it, guess not.

My neighbor has been terrorizing me with a flipper zero for about 8 months so far. I got one too with the Wi-Fi dev board, I used to be big into computers when I was younger but fell out of it. This a-hole not only pulled me back in to the tech world, but I have definitely realized how out of date I am. This guy is driving me insane, And any tips to keep my network/router safe would be great. Thank you for this video. You're helping more than you know.

The neighbor is probably using a de-auth attack non-stop so they impersonate a device by spoofing the MAC address to the device and telling the router it will disconnect so it disconnects the device and to fix that call the police because that's ilegal.

i dont get it. ddos response plan is not prevention more like damage control after it happened. secure infra with walls, antivirus and monitors that doesnt tell me much. id like to know exactly how these apps deal with massive incoming requests from random places, how do they know which are real? which to block which to let thru?

there is no way to stop ddos. i found some mitigating techniques, only black hole kind of stops it but it stops legit traffic too so no win. misleading title.

Great video) How can you differentiate between a ddos attack and just extremely large traffic on a webpage or server?

You can look for a sudden and unusual variation. Continuous recording of your network's operating metrics can help.
