This was one of the better walkthroughs I've seen. You were clear and to-the-point with good detail but you weren't rambling for an hour. I wish every how-to video was this well done. Thank you.

This gentleman is correct. Check your switch, pull and move around the wiring harness and make sure that the connections are solid and clean. As another person stated, when possible disconnect the battery to avoid damaging equipment. My actuator was intermittent and would work again if i banged on the door. 😂 So after some investigating I found out that one of the wires was not fully seated in the harness. It felt connected but was not solid. After giving it a firm push in, the actuator started working. If it becomes loose again later then i may just replace the connection. Saved $75!

I had a similar issue on my 14 Tundra Platinum except my fob wouldnt lock or unlock my driver door. All I did was take my door apart and blow in my actuator connector, threw it back together and it worked 🤷🏻♂️😂 easy fix and spent no money. Thank you for your video though this helped me get my door apart 👌🏼

Thank you. This has been a very helpful video. My 2020 Tundra is having issues with the driver side door lock intermittently sticking and not unlocking or locking. I have keyless entry and it;s quite annoying to have to pull out the key when the door should just unlock. I took it to the dealership but they say they cant find anything wrong with it as the problem is not happening all the time and wont fix it until it finally does not work at all. I may end up buying a new actuator and fixing it myself. So much for that Platinum Warranty I bought.

I appreciate the vid. Very straight forward and informative. The only step I would add is disconnect the negative lead on your battery before starting on the door.

Mr A There’s an airbag connector behind the door and I’ve heard (but never confirmed) there’s a possibility of triggering the airbag when plugging/unplugging the connector. I typically disconnect the battery as a precaution anytime I have to unplug an airbag connector

Welding and Stuff, great video. Man you got to the bottom of that problem! I have the same lock problems on my 2013. Can you tell me if your locks got to be intermittent before they quit? Mine did and I was about to start replacing $225 actuators one at a time. None of mine work now on a 7 yr old truck? What? Let us know about that. Thanks again!

Great presentation. Thanks! My problem is as I removed the two cables from the interior door latch the cable for the actuator slid out. It had broken "at" the actuator. Also the door (driver's) is shut and I can't open it. I've seen others videos stating I have to remove the panel on the back (suicide) door behind it and cut the connector in the suicide door to release the actuator. I'm hoping you have a better idea.

Very similar to my 2016 Tundra just changed mine in 12 minutes bought all new clips but didnt have to use them. The only thing that is different with the 2016 is the door light harness is on the door itself not the plastic panel and did not have to be disconnected.

I have a 2010 tundra and have replaced the motors in all of the doors, some of them, twice. Now I'm on my 3rd motor. It's a cheap and relatively easy fix, but still kind of annoying. Anyone else have this problem over and over?

Our 2014 Tundra door locks are having issues. The past year it’s been the driver door on and off. Then the past few weeks the drivers side door started acting up. Now the both back doors won’t even lock. Would this be all 4 actuators? Is it weird they are aren’t working at the same time? Until this past week could always lock using the inside button when the fob wouldn’t lock/unlock.

When the actuator goes out should I be able to unlock the door manually? I've got a sequoia with a rear door that is locked closed. I can't figure out how to get it open. Do you have any idea? If I do get it open would replacing the actuator fix it?
@hsing4903

If the actual actuator fails it should be stuck locked or unlocked. Whatever position it died in. To release it if you can get the panel off you need to pull on the other end of the actuator wire cables with the metal ball on the end. 1 will release the actuator to unlock your hatch. Then you can replace the actuator.

I noticed you list 3 of the 4 door actuators using one brand, then on the drivers side rear, you list a different manufacturer? Why? Thanks for the video. I was able to take my 2010 Tundra Crewmax drivers door apart and remove the actuator and put it back together. I confirmed I need a new one and ordered the one you suggest.

You did a very throrough job of breaking disassembling and then reassembling your door panel, as well as narrating it. However....just for some light criticization...I think you lost focus with the door panel, and just blew by the actual probkem and fix that you did, too quickly. Nonetheless, thank you for your time and effort you put into this video sir.
