It was a joyous occasion at the Mitchells Plain Promenade mall on Thursday as Western Cape police welcomed a total of 251 brand new vehicles in a bid to reduce crime in crime infested areas.
Hundreds of police officers descended at the parking area, where a fleet of vehicles lined up waiting for the officers to be handed over the vehicle keys.
Minister of Police Bheki Cele, WC police commissioner General Thembisile Patekile and MEC for Police Oversight and Community Safety, Reagen Allen were in attendance.
