Great comedy series from the 80's. Season 5. These have been gathered from various i-net sources & re-encoded, mainly cos many of them had repeated sequences in them (ie. poor encodes). Enjoy.
Absolutely, seen some sad ones over years but this was an exception for me very sad Brendas mum whether you like her character or not her acting to play that roll is sublime Really is superb Thats one of the magical things about this show the characters and the actors all fits together to make a superb show really is superb I loved it when it came out and although i new i would still love it I thought it might have aged but no it could absolutely would fit in and compete with today's stuff easily And better most crap of today and better the better ones as well The only thing that's aged but in a very good way is the 80s vintageness which i love, draws you back to the 80s in a very good way Perfect show

The biggest thing this series taught me is how big Liverpool is and that people take the ferry.

A clever parody of the end of The Graduate with echoes of shots, with Brenda's desperate run, the climb up the steps and the teasing shots of the balcony. It was not to be of course, or at least not in this episode. The climactic part of The Graduate was also parodied in the last episode of the Nicole & Papa advertisements for the Renault Clio, albeit with Bob Mortimer in place of Benjamin and Vic Reeves as the jilted would-be bridegroom.

He went from Brenda the abrasive to Lucinda the wet lettuce. Talk about a rock and a hard place. Also, what happened to Sandra, the sister. They went from 4 siblings to 3.

@@christianellwood1972 She was the worst character in the the show and seemed very out of place and uncomfortable. I wasn't overly keen on Brenda's mother either, but I could put up with her. Regardless though, I watched it from beginning to end and really enjoyed it.

I don't know if it's the actress, or her character is supposed to be that way, but Lucinda's character always seemed sort of "off" or something. Like an alien or something. She always seems like she's zonked out on valium. I just can't put my finger on it. Just strikes me as very odd and mechanical.
