So fun watching Steve enjoy those colors as he activated them. I definitely want to see Steve use those pencils on a grayscale page. It would be cool to do most of the page with the vintage Graphitint pencils and then pick out one thing to stand out (like the fire hydrant?) and use the Inktense on it so it will pop!

It's such a change to see Derwent products being tested. I live in Cumbria (the county in England where they are made) so I love all things Derwent, I can't help myself lol.x

Color coded last night and can't wait to try your heart project with both of my sets here that you just showcased. What fun and laughter along with watching. Antique or maybe newspaper print. I use to like grandma’s hands when she had ink all over them. I love the antique looking colors

It was fun watching Steve color. Glad he enjoyed it. Those pencils look very interesting. Thank you for sharing your anniversary presents with us. Happy 25th! Derwent seems to excel at the watersoluble mediums. I love my Inktense pencils.

I got my first graphitint pencils about 15 years ago. There has been water soluble sketching pencils for even longer than that. I expect that the inktense smear more than the graphitint because ink. Inktense works best on hot press watercolour paper in my experience. I think Steve has found his medium by the way! Also, I use the Tombow colourless blender ABT pen to activate my water activated pencils instead of either a brush and water or a waterbrush.

I imagine drawing a pretty flower and then using the graphitint to draw the background and then using the inktense to make the flower explode of the page.

Oh those pencils are so cool! I agree with all the descriptions of these as well. Great job Steve, loved watching you activate all those hearts! I'm anxious to see more coloring from Jennifer using these pencils. So cool, such a great anniversary gift as well. You did good Steve-your a good husband. I think the new pencils are more understated next to the Inktense pencils. Hugs, Brenda

Good job Steve!!! I like those. If you do make this into a page, I like how they are bunched together. Thank you for sharing this extra fun, vintage, muted video. Have a nice day 🌼🌸

I would say they look rustic and weathered. Yes you can use them on top of Inktense once the Inktense is dry

So coincidental I was just playing with my inktence tonight. And btw I'm a mom of boys also. Missed this live because we were having a thunderstorm and the internet was slow. Not so normal in the middle of Missouri. Thank you fun video.

The graphitint are good for drawing a forest scene. I think of them as earthy. I would not use Inktense in a forest scene, because you want muted colors. Also the Inktense, as great as they are , are very expensive.

Hi Jennifer!!! I'm new to ur channel. I found u, I think 2 weeks ago (maybe 3) & I have to say I just love all ur videos! I even followed u to Facebook 😉 (I promise, I'm NOT a stalker 😂) I've learned so much from you! I have always used gel pens to color bc I have carpal tunnel so pencils hurt me too much. However, bc of ur videos I've ordered a set of markers to give them another go. I never could color with them and it look good before but I didn't know about alcohol markers either! I enjoy ALL ur videos and learning so much. U have the kind personality that I wish u lived near me & we could hang out & color. I really just love you, rose, hubby, & all ur videos. Thank You so much for what you do! It take so much courage to get on cam & make these videos. I could never! But thank you for ur courage & hard work. God Bless!!! (Sorry comment is so long!)

I like the idea of them but in practice they just look like dull watercolor pencils to me. Some people complain that they all look gray when dry, to me they don't look enough like graphite! :) I wanted to draw with them and then spray the drawing with a fine mist in some areas for that color explosion look, but still have some graphite lines.

The watercolors are beautiful, but do not act like watercolors. They are inks and do not lift. But once dry, another layer of the compliment is beautiful. evg
