That's very good advice! I am lucky that I have well water, and it's always about 70f (about 21c).

Yep. I keep My Goldfish at 22c all year and always make sure I match the temp exactly when doing water changes with water that's been aged out of the tap a minimum of 24 hrs with dechlorination. PH is naturally around 7.8 out of the tap but I buffer it with Baking Soda and Salt to keep it stable.

@@1963patto I've used this method for nearly 20 years. I'm currently just using 2 * 100L tubs that I fill with tap water, heavy aeration and because I'm in the UK I heat it up to around 22C before adding it to the tanks. I also use Seachem Safe in the tubs 24hrs prior to adding to the fish, plus a hand full of Sea salt. In the Summer I move the tubs outside, water de gases better in the Sun and will naturally heat.

@@justinstuart8382 I understand that in the UK that you would need heaters, but I do not use heaters here for my goldfish. I let them do the four seasons they live longer that way they do not stay in a heightened state. But everybody there own that I could see where you live. You would need heaters

@@1963patto I only have them at around 22c in Winter then I turn the heater off in the Summer as where I live can get to over 30c in Summer. I'm actually from the Island of Jersey. Closer to France than UK. On a clear day I can see the French coast from my house.

@@justinstuart8382 oh that's cool. My much prefer to let my goldfish have a winter and it allows the females to really rest. Then I feed them up in the spring when the water temperature starts to get over. 20° then I may put in some spawner mops where I live here. We can get 40 degree days and above in the summer and about 12 to 13° in deep winter
