I understand what you are going through. We are going through the worst heat and drought I’ve experienced in all my years. This may be the time I break down and make a drip irrigation bed for the future. I see this as a permanent climate change, getting worse each year.

We’ve received non stop rain here in New England interesting to see the difference, I would recommend covering your soil in a mulch of grass of unsprayed hay to retain that moisture also it will help absorb more when/ if you do get a rain

One would think the corn is down into the darker soil Aaric. As the watering of beans has begin, wastch of signs of leave wilting andwater some again. They are nice looking plants. So I am suggesting to water. However the creager question remains: Crimson Clover? Or Soybeans? I think there could be an expert with the answer down Tennessee area. -Bob...

Thank you ! We never made it to the corn tonight it's too dang hot out there . I'm with you I think the corn roots are down in that darker soil . The beans have a shallow root system that has me more worried .

@@AaricHale An interesting thought does occur Aaric, if a person had a place to plant some crimson clover, or other dense ground cover, could that be cut once the beans are up a couple inches or true leaves, and laid in as a mulch to retain moisture?
@AaricHale
Жыл бұрын
@@wranther I think that would work really well to be honest . I know they roll the cover crops down and plant right through the residue to save moisture .

@@AaricHale If I had the space, and allow the grasses / weeds or whatever to grow through any herbicides, I sure would cut, bag, and later on apply as mulch! Certainly would retain moisture, double as a natural weed fabric, and become soil builders with each application.

We watered ours Monday no rain and high 90's all week here , your kinda forced at this point to water everything to keep it looking as nice as it is , you certainly don't want to lose those nice plants , your beans are covered in blooms and doing great your gonna get alot off them plants good job your corn will suffer the most with lack of water if your corn leaves start curling upwards thay are saying I'm very thirsty 👍
