LINK To PRODUCTS BELOW **On this long adventure over a few months, I propagated Red Osier Dogwoods as hard cuttings with water.
Propagating plants is when you take a small new growth or cuttings from an already established plant/tree and use a technique such as this to get roots to grow and create a new plant or tree
I did this with one of my favorite winter shrubs, the Red Osier Dogwood. This all started while the shrubs were dormant during the dead of upstate New York winter ; taking hard stick cuttings in the winter and bringing them inside to warm up and take root in just a cup of water. I placed the cup of cuttings in water on a windowsill in the sunlight. The process can take a while to happen on hard stick cuttings, but as long as your sticks are not rotting and look healthy, you are going in the right direction
In this video you will see me use a “to-go” style cut/pot. I did this only to be able to show you, the audience, how the rooting was going. This is not a necessary process
This is a great process to get free plants, shrubs and Trees . I plan to use these red osier dogwoods throughout the 🌿Ranch🍀 to help feed my deer herd.
These Red Osier Dogwood shrubs make for amazing browse for deer. That’s why I chose them to help accentuate my food plot
