I am a student on Patreon. My challenge to myself is to compose a new composition for each painting of your's that I am following. This helps me meet my challenge. Thanks.

It is nice to see design principles applied in real time. I have two degrees, including a MFA, and the design principles are universal to all art and design modalities. Your presentation for watercolor is wonderful. Thanks so much. I love your work.

A beautiful composition with lovely colours. I love the way you have partnered the doves with the Christmas Cactus. I would not have thought to do that but it makes for a beautiful harmonious composition. We had those cacti on my dining room windowsill as a child, they bore fruit. Rather like strawberry flavoured fruit. Thank you for the memories. X

This is a fabulous instructional video. I knew some basic composition concepts but you taught me so much more and through your easy to follow, clear explanation. I have always loved your compositions and now I know how you create them. Thank you so much for generosity in teaching and sharing your wealth of knowledge. I think you would be more than capable of writing a book on your processes for creating watercolor art. :)

This easy one of the most useful tutorials I've seen in a long time. For me I'm quite advanced technically but there was always something not quite perfect about my work that always frustrated me. Now I can see it is the composition that was off, and your tips to bring it together are wonderful, I especially like the Chinese principal you described. Absolutely wonderful tutorial, for the first time I actually think I can now fix what I was unhappy with which had almost made me give up at one point. Thank you for finally giving me the solution to the last piece of the puzzle, I'm so grateful. Thanks again for reigniting the spark, I'd once lost, your such an inspiration. ❤😊

Thank you so much for your feedback Barbara! I try to read the comments thoroughly here and on my PATREON so I can better understand the questions and areas of struggle / concerns that my students may have… I am lucky to have access to lots of “research” in that sense 😊 one idea I have for an upcoming video is to paint the same thing on cotton and regular paper side by side - to really illustrate the differences and hopefully save others a bit of time in figuring this out… have a wonderful day! 💕
