Loved your video Traci! I think the reason mine didn’t work is that I used liquid watercolors. By the time they were diluted down with a little additional water added to the liquid paint, there was no way it would dry on the clay. I have a pallet similar to yours that I’ve never used and I am going to see what I can come up with. I will post a picture of my results! Thanks for the technique and the willingness for me to try it again😊😊😊

I like the bar earrings with the wider edge on top. The reason watercolor might not adhere is because the binder in watercolors is gum arabic. Gum arabic is a resin but it's water soluable, so it won't stick unless the pigments are encapsulated in the clay with a top coat with resin. Another choice to make when using watercolor is to consider color fastness. If the piece is exposed to a lot of sunlight, it may fade over time. Some watercolors (usually the pricey ones) will be UV resistant. Don't expect cheap watercolors to maintain their color over the long run. I'm thinking that WC with higher pigments in the mix will likely provide better adhesion. Hope this helps!? Nice tutorial!

I hope you weren't hit hard by the hurricane! The damage from Ian is heartbreaking. I lived in Florida over 40 years, been through more hurricanes than I can count. I am so glad I missed Ian. I hope he missed you too.

I paused the video to comment. I'm looking so forward to trying this...but maybe next week. I love painting with watercolors, but never even knew it could be used on polymer clay so, I'm very excited! I'm over in Pinellas county and we're bracing for it over here. Hopefully things won't get any worse than with Irma a few years ago (we had downed tree limbs and a damaged carport from falling branches in our complex, but were very fortunate with that one). Prayers and good thoughts appreciated all around. I'm not sure where you are, but prayers are being sent your way as well. Kim
