Thank you for your videos. I just got your video as a recommendation and I'm so glad I did! Your information is organized, detailed, and very easy and clear for me to follow. I really needed to learn these 3 strategies to check my plants! I'm going to go binge your other videos!

Alocasias the bane of my life. Wish I saw your vid ages ago....Do you have fertilizing tips?
@Plntd-ae

Hi Ken! Great question, our general advice is: if you see your plant actively growing, then its the right time to fertilize. If something is going "wrong" then it's likely a result of something else (most likely, light; second most likely, water), and that should be corrected way before thinking of fertilizing. The one exception is if your plant has been in the same pot for like 5+ years, never been repotted, is getting a lot of light, and therefore completely depleted all the nutrients in the soil. But this is highly, highly unlikely! Is that helpful?

I've often found it awkward to test with a finger depending on plant/pot combo. Are water meters a bad idea? Or just unnecessary from your perspective?

Why are you so against a simple water meter? That would solve all the issues using your finger.

Good video but I would never wait a whole month to water my snake plant unless I was away and couldn’t possibly do it. Just because they can tolerate long periods without water doesn’t mean they necessarily like it or that it’s the best for their growth.

Sorry..... just get a plant water meter and it will tell when to water your plant. Problem solved.

They don’t work, one that I just bought about 3 days ago said a plant that I watered yesterday is dry. Threw it out immediately, I will always trust my fingers.
