This is to date the only movie scene that scared me enough to leave a lasting memory of it years later. Other traumatizing scenes I’ve forgotten, but this one the imagery of remained in my mind. I don’t care what people say, this is not now and never was a kids movie

Tell me about it, I hated this scene, I also hated the scene where the field was covered in blood, I still do not like it very much now and I am 30 years old, I will tell you something though this film (and CITV series) taught me that the world is alive and we should do all we can to protect our world, animals and plants that live here and that humans are the most dangerous animals on earth and that is completely true, it has been scientifically proven, you ask a scientist that and they will tell you the same.

@@harrypell2603 Are you kidding? Plus I have heard about lots of murderers I could make a list Dennis Raider, Adolf Hitler, Ivan the terrible, Dennis Neilson, Peter Sutcliffe, Harold Shipman, Jeffrey Dahmer and so on they were all humans and they killed their victims in horrible ways I could go on but we would be here till next Chirstmas. Humans are the most dangerous animal in the world, humans rape, shoot, stab, explode each other, they pick a fight for a so called laugh or they do not like how someone looks or sounds, they hurt animals for fun or they just lose intrest in them. This scene gave me nightmares for years and now at 41 years old it still sends shivers down my spine, HOW THE FUCK can this be rated a u in the uk, and g in America, is beyond me, now people may think I'm exaggerating here but I'm really not, this film gave me PTSD, I'm sure of it, some of the images and scenes I just couldn't get out of my head, I remember for months after I first saw it as a seven year old, I would dread bed time because I knew my dreams would be HAUNTED by this film, did anyone else have similar experiences with this FUCKED UP film? Please reply and let me know, sorry about my language in this comment but that's how strongly I feel about it

The problem is, small children are NOT sophisticated enough to understand violence and death. This film is rated a U which means children of ANY age were allowed to see it. Toddlers who saw this would have been traumatised.

U people: "And there will be nothing unsuitable for children." This movie: *Am I a joke to you?* Honestly, I think the people who rated this film only looked at the script of it, saw the cute bunnies and gave it a U without actually looking at the rest.

Few movie scenes gave me as much inspiration, for one of the more horrifying aspects of my novel, than this one. Such simplicity and brutal efficiency to the execution of what the humans perceive as vermin; just fill in the holes and wait for a few days. I took this idea and extrapolated it and used it as a common form of imprisonment and execution performed by the cold and efficient House Kronen (the noble house in control of the courts in my book). Why waste money on prisons when there are perfectly good catacombs under the palace? Just put a prisoner there for a few days and seal off the exits. Any who die probably deserved it; and any who lived will wish to actively seek reform and better themselves, so they don't have to experience the horrors of the catacombs again. Simple, brutal, undoubtedly cruel and effective. As a child, I didn't understand this scene. Now, watching it again as an adult, I understand all too well. It is absolutely horrifying to watch; but also, exceptionally fascinating and it makes me think about things I didn't think of before. I can honestly say that I have found a new appreciation for this piece of oddly disturbing art.
