We used it during the 90s and 00s as slang, and the black community used it extensively in pop culture. Nobody got offended whomever used it. Then the millenials came around and entered college and suddenly decided that the word was offensive, and that the world must comply with their decree. it's nuts.

Sure, maybe people might of thought it was an okay word to use back then but the word comes from dark origin and these students are aware, thus the reason they say that they'd "use a different choice of words". There is nothing wrong with students being thoughtful and careful of what they say, however there is something very wrong with grown men making fun of students for their intelligence and social awareness. A high school degree used to be enough to make it into the middle class, if you knew. Now young people need college degrees to even come close to that, and it doesn't help that the cost of education is massive, yet it seems that millennials are the most educated generation, but still remain the poorest. Words are how we express our loves, our hates, our passions--all things. Words can rally a nation to peace, or they can rally a nation to take part in the murder their fellow countrymen based either on creed, race, or sexual orientation. Words are important. They are often precursors to action and depending on those words, those actions can be either great or terrible.

Either way, I'll debate with you even if it's off topic. Your argument makes no sense at all-- in fact you're supporting the Democratic Party with your statements. You realize the government gets so much of our money through taxes because businesses won't pay their workers enough to support their families, right? What democrats want to do is increase minimum wage and lower the power that large businesses and corporations have, so that we can all be middle class rather than having a ton of people living in poverty and a few billionaires. I would go more in depth with this but you're trying to sound gangster through your typing style so I have a feeling you're underage and it's not worth it.

Okay. So here's the thing. I think today, people have a biased argument that being a Democrat is being 'socially aware'. I apologize for the misunderstanding, and I hope what I said cleared things up. I'm very educated on the topic of politics, despite my age being 14. I'm in favor of demolishing federal programs that really aren't necessary (like Common Core). I'm in favor of focusing on our country and really scaling back on foreign policy. Is this satire? I honestly can't tell. The amount of times the interviewees had the expression of "how do you actually expect me to answer this" combined with a look of "are you actually that stupid" was pretty fun to watch though.

The ghetto is a place, not a race, or anything like that. I'm white, and I've lived in one ghetto or another for the majority of my life. They're acting like saying the word ghetto is some sort of derogatory term for "poc" or something. Like I said, it's a place. What would they prefer someone call it? The ghetto is a place where poor/"low income" people live. They're putting their own negative ideas about the word on to it.

Antonio Holley The worlds not all flowers and rainbows, feeble one. We got to this level of society and civilization by those means. Is Sharia law okay with you? Did Europeans not have to push back Muslims two times in the past to get rid of that ideology from their lands? The fact that Christianity teaches a positive outlook on life, was it not okay to try and rid the European world of Muslim views of Quran? Was doing all we can to try and rid the world of Communism wrong. Is communism okay with you? Everything you do is not your own, but the Nation that rules over you. would you not mind communist invading your country and kill you because you believe in different things? Then making you live under communism rule. When people being forced to live under Communist would fight against it. Is it okay that Liberals are allowed to change history and try to make it seem that the very people who started the country they live in. The ones that gave them the rights they have to this day. Just to make white people feel bad for what they did. I don't hear anyone yelling at others for their past wars. Without the very people some POC and white liberals hate. The world would be Communist China, or Islamic Sharia law. Because every intelligent person on this world knows. Sub-Saharan Africa and the Americas were all primitive Nomads or Tribes. So hows that alternative outlook on the world for you? Remember the North Native American tribes were going threw some epidemic before we unknowingly brought our "whole" continents diseases over. Also Sub-Saharan Africa never had use for earthly resources ( never thought to make use of ). Unless its was basic shelter and for killing animals for food.

I like that black guy, admitting there is a level of black privilege. There is privilege in all the groups, whether you are gay, black, a feminist, or a troll. If you are a part of any group, you have certain things that are socially acceptable for you to say or do. We are pretty equal here in America, and let's just stop coming up with things to be offended by like words.

Most of the young people in the segment are clearly way smarter and informed than the interviewer, and yet the interviewer is the one who's super smug and patronizing. These kids think he's a super awkward clown, which is exactly what he is. And his use of the word "offensive" is just as brainless and dishonest, because it's a word that's lost all of it's original meaning. "Offensive" used to mean "nauseating", which is how people feel when they're so disgusted that they want to throw up. But conservatives keep misusing the word, and nowadays it's used to describe being overly sensitive. Well guess what, racism and other types of bigotry do way more than hurt feelings. It disgusts people, and it can also potentially make them righteously angry. Young people need to reject the "offended" label that the lying conservative right has imposed on them!
