Would imagine overgrazing during a climate crisis was never going to be very sustainable but I'm glad to see the resilience of humanity. I may have missed it, but did they restore some arid area when they started farming? Or was it fertile land they moved to? Either way, hopefully they all migrate to a better area as I'm sure living in a desert has got to be hard no matter how used to it you've become.

You guys let me advice you, sell most of those cows, it gave you more stress than benefits. Buy high breed cows that produce more milk and they are manageable. Community shall come together and find solution of how they can store water from raining season because I am sure even though they received a few months of rain but its enough if you have good storage. I have seen work elsewhere, you can use Tana River for irrigation, In northern rift they can use L. Turkana, L. Baringo, Tarkwel River for irrigation. Don't wait for the government to come for your help. Meantime, you can consolidate funds and take the government to the court for failing to provide you with your constitutional rights of having clean water.

The leaders they have elected have neglected them. Drought resistant trees need to be planted in these areas. They need boreholes for water supply. They also need change their lifestyle. Do farming and grow some crops . They should not just depend on livestock but have an alternative to survive.

You can't imagine how fertile are in this so called arid and semi arid areas. From Kainuk Pokot, to Turkana to Samburu to Laikipia to Marsabit, to Wajir, Moyale, Isiolo, Garissa this all area is treated as waste land yet it only needs irrigation schemes, underground water harvesting pools to protect them from evaporation and contamination by animal feces, with little chlorine it's good to go for human and irrigation schemes. This is the best place to produce organic food since it's soil is yet to be poisoned by synthetic fertilizer and pesticide. Kenya government should stop politicizing everything inorder for them to privately import some grain for profit. Life is short to make most of lives miserable for personal gain. I always kept wondering all this wealth owned by a few corrupt leaders who looted this country since independent, are they eating food comes from paradise! Are they eating like 5 elephant so that they need all those resources. Uhuru's family have the offshore saving of 3.5 untouched trillion yet he couldn't even spared Covid funds or even help the helpless and less fortunate Kenyans. May God of justice punish them plague.

Great work ..this is documentary bears mixed emotions..on one hand I'm happy for the one that have adapted mixed farming kudos..on the other hand my heart breaks for the other part where they dying of famine and drought 🥺 surely something can be done to help them because it's clear they lack the necessary resources..what are their leaders doing??!!
