Ooh! @Jasper Toejam (totally a real name, I assure you), Don't forget to work at getting the Vehicular Bridge Voter Base too. Just tell people the other guy wanted a Pedestrian Bridge or something, I'm sure they will never look anyway.

I hope the fake account of Jasper ToeJam knows that there was NOT a Council meeting last night. We do not have a meeting on the 2nd Monday of the month. So like everyone else I was at home watching MNF.. and then that was terrible.. so I watched a movie while enjoying a cigar.

Waverly light and Power charges exorbitant amounts. I don't have a month UNDER $350 for electricity and we have a gas stove and gas dryer. I don't have a crappy job either, but I can't wait for my daughter to finish high school so we can move. We can't afford to live in Waverly. My wife works at the same place as people on City Council, so it isn't that she has a struggling job. We have decent jobs. Why is there so much resistance to council members fighting for lower living costs? This confuses me. Every council meeting has new plans to spend millions and millions of dollars-- to build bridges, pools, schools, things that Waverly doesn't have a tax base for. There's what 10000 people in the town, at the most?

Interesting. I have three children (two teenagers) and a drafty 130+ year old house with central air conditioning. I also have a gas stove, gas dryer and a gas furnace. My electricity bills have been $159, $117, $191, $219, $165, $156, $223, $197, $241, $258, $175, $143, $135, $204, $181. . .

I only have one house, so I can't compare bills. It's just that Erik said his bills were never below $350. I'm not sure why his consumption is so much higher than mine.

Brian Birgen Obviously, yes. But your electric bills go over $200 a month? Your house is small. That's insane. You must be using well over the lowest tier of 600kw that WLP sets before they bump up your rates even higher.

You can also compare bills with Friends and realitives in different cities.. or u can always send your usage to CFU or Mid American and they will tell you what you would pay in their city. It's easy.

I agree. It's embarrassing.. it's also embarrassing that our current Mayor will not out the item on an agenda so it can be discussed. We were ignored. He does not understand how Democracy works!! It's embarrassing for Waverly!

Tim Kangus needs to go, along with the mayor. It's apparent the mayor will allow any council member who agrees with him to speak, while shutting down his opposition. It blows my mind this session was not released to the public until the day after voting.

Ps, people who don’t live here, vote here, pay taxes here, shop here, educate here or volunteer here, shouldn’t be allowed to have a platform here.

JennP2182 then don’t post your vids to a public platform. Make it only available to people who live there, vote there, pay taxes there, shop there, educate there or volunteer there. Or better yet. Disable comments like a good socialist. But thank god I can comment because I bought a candy bar at the Casey’s while passing through once.

And for the record, I was referring to the “gentleman” in the video speaking at the meeting, not the comments on the video. He does not live in our community. He is an interloper and a rabble rouser. He has no right to an opinion regarding how our community conducts business. (Obviously we are needing tremendous improvement.) If anyone can walk into any community and begin demanding whatever they like and threatening the city, that sets a very dangerous precedent. My point, if you don’t live here, don’t demand anything. If you do, you should be heard and your opinion and views should matter, even if I disagree with you.

That guy is a troll, Waverly is not the only city he's done this to. Personally, I couldn't care less if we have a prayer at the beginning of meetings. His goal is to get it to stop, because Atheist.

Nathan, agreed 100%. He may have a legitimate argument, but he loses all credibility by hiding behind a fake agenda. Just be honest. You hate Christians. You think they’re intellectually inferior and their beliefs are infantile. I disagree, obviously, but let’s just call a spade a spade. I’ve been to his Facebook page, I have no doubt he’s simply using terms like “inclusive” and “diversity” as a cover.
