@@renjicc3106 Even in practice when you keep missing easy shots it really throws you off your rhythm and its quite frustrating. Also no penalty for racquet abuse in practice lol

There's a marked difference between the Top 4 and the rest of mens' tennis that I can see just in this video. In comparison to the Big 4, everyone just misses too many balls. Watch the section of Stan/Cilic just rallying cross court backhands and you see that basically every fifth shot, they're trying to recover from playing an out ball. I don't know if it's still up on youtube but there was a phenomenal video of Djokovic practicing with Murray in Dubai this year, doing basically the same drills, and they could go 20-30 balls without an error at the same pace, arguably a bit faster. It seems like they make it a habit to drill consistency in practice like they would want in the match. Don't get me wrong, the whole top 100 is full of phenomenal tennis players and special talents (Wawrinka's backhand?!) but even at the pro level, consistency is king. How many players can we list who we'd say could go forehand to forehand with Federer, or backhand cross with Djokovic?

I agree with you but Murray and Djoker are a different kind of player than Stan. He hits out in practice very aggressively. He has won two grand slams against two of the greatest players of all time, and on two different surfaces. He is the closest to the big four that there is and very good

That’s a good observation but Stan has never really been a great practice player. He’s very much a rhythm player who turns it on in the big matches. That’s why his results are a lot more erratic than then big 4.
