Whenever Dan Rather wears that green wig he starts playing some wicked guitar

I like that after all the years he’s been playing Wayne is still searching for new concepts , that should resonate with every musician , regardless of their ability

As always, nothing but wisdom. I needed a moment to gather myself after that first demonstration of playing in the center of the beat. Beautiful, brother.

I'm glad I found you. I (used to) write about jazz and I thought you were my secret guitarist that wasn't getting enough press or whatever, but then I forgot your name. Google also seemed to have forgotten your name too. Anyway, cool concepts here. I hope to refresh my memory now of just why you were so high on my list back then. I did remember you finally through a connection to Chris Potter. Anyway, I have rarely heard anyone speak on this topic. I like it. As a bass player I've had to always be aware of where the time is in case someone else isn't. And later on it was always with in-ears, so i just took it for granted. But I'd love to explore this freer flowing concept more in my own playing, and with anyone who wants to explore it with me. Wish me luck.

There are only TWO players I've experienced that sound just like themselves without any kind of amp/pedal/outboard gear: Edward Van Halen ( RIP ) and Wayne Krantz.

It was hard to understand about the metronome for me at first, but I think I do now. I think I get it. I’ll turn it on when I play tomorrow.

Was thinking about Funn lately, how Fagen was prescient, and we're sort of in it these days. Sort of. Anyway, all time great recorded guitar solo over a song form. Check it out. WK brings the whole toolkit. You'd swear they arranged comps and bass around the solo, the phrasing and space is so dialed in. 10:50 "I think it worked pretty well." It did indeed.

Rubato face illustrates what you are conveying when playing inconsistently outside the grid in fundamental opposition to the universe providing the guitar as an umweltlichkeit.

Wayne blocks people on his patreon even though he's the one with a bad attitude. He regularly loses members because of his attitude. The guy has a video of him shirtless on the front page of his website. He has some serious ego issues.

Man Just play guitar and have Fun mane ! Obviously Wayne is a highly intelligent guy .. great player great musician ... but now he's teetering into paralysis of analysis territory ... takes all the fun out of the beauty of music ... thinking way too much ... takes the soul outta the music ... vexes the spirit ... the highest expression of the self is to be a servant .. to give love .. bring joy ... The opposite of selfless is selfishness ...we can do that even with music !

Interesting. I had a totally different reaction to it. Wayne is such an open book and from this segment, it's even more apparent that he is an empath and a highly intuitive player.
