I just adored Jay Thomas on Big Ways radio! I listened to him every day when I was growing up back in the 70's about 20 miles west of Charlotte, NC. #RIP Jay, forever in my heart!

I grew up about 60 miles from Charlotte and we listened to Big WAYS and Jay every morning while getting dressed for school. He was freakin' amazing and I think he helped my buddies and me get through school: we'd meet at the bus stop before school and talk about that morning's gags. Great deejay.

This is the actor and comedian who later appeared on Cheers, Murphy Brown, and every Xmas season on Letterman, among others. He died last year. I guess this would be right around the time of his infamous "Lone Ranger" story that he told every year on The Late Show with David Letterman. He mentioned working in Charlotte when that story went down.

I grew up in Albemarle, 40 miles from Charlotte. I would listen to Big Ways every morning on my way to school at West Stanly.
